There was a reason she'd come here, because she wanted help; with exactly what, she hadn't known but the minute he suggested he would help her, relief shook her shoulders once more and she could feel her voice catch in her throat. Horror was the next however, as Rowan realized this would most certainly put him at risk too. His entire family. She knew he was certainly allotted more protection than any of the people she had thought of first (and perhaps that's why she'd given into going to see him; or perhaps it was something else)...but —
"No," Her voice was firm for the first time in the past few minutes; clear and simple. She stepped back once more, shaking her head as the fog started to clear for her once more. "No, I can't ask you to do that for me." In the series of mistakes she'd made that night, coming here had quickly moved to the top of her list. She couldn't ask him to do such a thing; what would he think of her after, when it was all done and he could properly process what they had just done?
A year or so ago she wouldn't have cared two sickles how he thought of her, but somewhere in the span of the past few weeks that had changed. She could barely look him in the eyes now for fear of what she might find there. "Thank you, I just...needed somewhere to clear my head." Even as the excuse she was giving had turned from being true to a complete lie; she wanted him to help but the fear of what waited on the other side of tonight had her firmly in its grasp. Another shake of her head. "I'll be alright, I just...I just needed to catch my breath."
