Appearance: Blonde and delicate, Tamsin has her mother’s looks combined with her father’s clever eyes; hers are light green and standing at 5'4, with pale skin and a slender figure she is a remarkably pretty young woman and she is very aware of that fact, using it to open doors wherever she can. Tamsin dresses well and has a knack for complimenting her features instinctively and she finds girls who don't care about their appearances to be even more abhorrent than those that are born without nature’s advantages.
History:
1868: Born the youngest child and only daughter of Maxwell and Martha Skeeter, Tamsin is spoilt from birth and absolutely doted on by parents and brothers alike, although the latter may come to regret that in later life.
1873: Precociously young Tamsin displays magic for the first time a few days after she picks a rose from the garden for her mother that wilts by the following day - when one of her brothers copies her obviously amazing present she cries and makes her rose bloom again. And theirs wither.
1875: With almost all of her brothers away at school by now Tamsin has the run of the house, apart from Thompson who is more than happy to go along with her schemes. Through their happy days of playing the two become close and share most things even in adulthood.
1877: The family pack up and move to Hogsmeade.
1878: Thompson goes to Hogwarts and, as she expected, Tamsin misses him. She does not anticipate quite how much she will miss him though and spends a mostly miserable year with her mother who tries endlessly to cheer her up.
1879: Finally Tamsin also receives her letter and is sorted straight into Hufflepuff, like both her parents before her. Within about ten minutes of being in the dormitory together she had decided that Zelda Fisk will either be her greatest friend or her most terrible enemy.
1879-1884: The first few years of Tamsin's schooling are fairly ordinary, with the exception of Headmaster Black's strange foray into chastity cuffs. They don't bother Tamsin, she is not yet old enough to be hindered by them, but she does find them annoying and embarrassing. She is a middling student at best, bright enough when she tries but far too lazy to achieve much beyond an ability towards rhetoric in her essays.
1884: Irina, probably the only older girl Tamsin looked up to, dies in childbirth and Tamsin barely has time to be sad before several of the Skeeters are struck down with the illness ravaging Hogsmeade. Miraculously all of them survive and she begins to value her older brothers a little more.
Christmas, 1885: Inadvertently kisses two people thanks to mistletoe. One of them is a handsome, Quidditch-playing, son-of-an-Earl and the other is Zelda Fisk. Peeves giveth and Peeves taketh away.
1886: Barney is an utter twonk in the papers and Will Not Stop talking about women duelling. If she thought she'd be any good at it Tamsin would do it just to annoy him. As it is there are plenty of other women more than happy to do that for her. He is soundly ignored. In the summer Tamsin graduates and immediately begins to intern at the Daily Prophet Archie's advice.
1887: Barney runs for Minister. Tamsin laughs a lot that summer.
1888: Finally a fully fledged reporter for Social and Gossip Tamsin is very much looking forward to attending the summer season!
Personality: Spoilt, occasionally catty, but not overly unpleasant Tamsin is a clever girl with a lot of ideas about what she deserves in life and how she intends to get them. Marrying for love and security was once her prime objective due to the joint examples of her well-respected married mother and her oft-ridiculed, spinster aunt. She'd rather be like the former than the latter but a spirit of independence has risen since she left school and now she is considering her options. She would still jump at any opportunity to find herself in a better station, but she is enjoying commenting upon other people’s attempts far too much to give it up just yet! Quick-witted, being the baby of the family has left her a little bit coddled and the is the apple of her father’s eye, a fact she merrily exploits with her brothers.
Other:
+ Though she tells people her first kiss was with Jack Humphrey-Mavis for bragging reasons, chronologically it was with Zelda Fisk.
+ Of all her brothers she is closest to Thompson, likes the rest, and thinks Barney is absolutely ridiculous.
Age: 28.
