Whole Lot in Love

"Guess we'll find out," She teased, echoing his earlier remark, before smacking a peck on his cheek. This had gone just about as well as she could have hoped for. Though she certainly hadn't envisioned such a drastic change to her life in a short amount of time, at least they were on the same page. Eva rather thought they could weather whatever came their way.

"Well I would like that very much," She mused aloud. Now she had to tell her father... Or, "Who's telling Da?" Possibly the most terrifying part of the whole situation.

There was only one man on the planet who frightened Beau to his core, and that was Conall MacKay. He wasn't afraid of Eva's father because he thought the man capable of harming him (at least, not in an outright fight anyway), nor because he thought Conall disliked him. In fact, after many nights commiserating over their mutual hatred of Mr. Langley Beau was fairly confident Conall liked him. But, the Irish man was Eva's father. And, in Beau's experience, fathers did some crazy shit when it came to their daughters.

Beau's eyes widened a smidgen in fear, the first show of the panic racing inside him this evening. He would have to ask for permission to marry Eva, not that either man would believe Conall had any true say over the matter. Informing him of the pregnancy would be a mutual discussion led by Eva after the wedding. No way in hell was Beau going into that one alone. "It has to be me, courtesies and all," Beau muttered. "I'll ask him for permission tomorrow, though. Tonight is just for us."

There was a small sense of satisfied amusement in her chuckle when his face fell just a little. "He does like you and you are planning on making it right so, I'm sure he'll only do a little mild intimidation." She'd offer to do it for him, but those two were pretty stubborn and she was not about to get in the middle of it.

"Oh yeah? Going all mushy and romantic on me already?" Not that she didn't like it, she did, every once in a while, but it wasn't the usual between them.

"Oh, no, Eva," Beau said immediately. "I'm not telling him about the baby, not by myself." Conall might actually kill him and Beau would be honor bound to allow it. "I'm asking permission to marry you, not that he really needs to give it." Either way she was his and he hers. Nothing, not her father or the damn sky falling would prevent him from doing right by her.

He then began to rub her back. Wanting to spend time alone with her before the insanity began wasn't soft and mushy. (And where his thoughts kept going were certainly not soft, not that Beau had any plans to act on those.) "I'll go now, then." Beau stated confidently while making no move to stand. The conversation that was to come required preparation and a plan. Him showing up unannounced was about the exact opposite.

Eva liked to think she knew Beau pretty well by now, but every now and then he surprised her. Asking her father for her hand was one thing, saying it wasn't actually necessary was another altogether. Conall would probably highly disagree, but Eva was with Beau on this one. To make everything look somewhat appropriate anyway. It was the goal really. "Don't worry, I'll handle the grandpa announcement."

He didn't make any moves to get up, despite his words, but Eva wrapped her arms around his neck anyway, holding tight to whisper in his ear, "We do have the whole house to ourselves at the moment..." Dipping her head to trail a couple kisses down his neck.

Beau was visibly relieved that Eva would be handling the pregnancy announcement. He wasn't afraid of much in life, but irate fathers terrified him. (A fear most likely left over from his dealings with his own father, not that he would admit to it.) "Thank you," he murmured. Merlin, they were really getting married.

The kisses on his neck were anything but innocent. To refuse her wasn't something Beau believed himself capable of, but what of the baby? Could they somehow damage the pregnancy if they continued as they had? "Is it safe...?" Beau asked hesitantly, pulling away from her to carefully watch her face.

The laugh that escaped was unavoidable. It took over her whole body as she pressed her forehead against his shoulder. "Oh Darling," She breathed out, entirely amused. "Far safer than telling me no..." She hummed out, resuming her slow torture. He couldn't seriously be worried, could he? Eva supposed men didn't really know much about pregnancy, hell most women didn't, but Eva was not most women.

"We can take it slow if you're that nervous." She chuckled. Eva was positive nothing bad would happen, though she was still in awe she was pregnant at all, she rather thought at this point it would take a hell of a lot for things to go awry now. "Just take me upstairs before I change my mind." Or the nausea came back. The first was unlikely, but the latter came and went with the winds it seemed.
