Djura didn't look at the hands in question. He didn't like his hands. Yes they were large, deft, handsome things, but they had also killed people. Of all the places in all of London, this was not the place to start thinking about that.

"You're very particular, aren't you", he replied with slight amusement.

Friendless had no idea what that word meant. "I don't know about that, I just like things. Life is too short to be sorry about the things you like or to not admit you like 'em," Endy said with a shrug. Was that being particular? He had no idea. Hopefully this man didn't realize that Endy was glossing over his lack of understanding of the word.

Djura wasn't so sure he agreed with that, but he understood Max's thinking. In a kinder sense of the word, he did think the boy as rather simple — but that was refreshing and welcomed. Frankly, that was why Djura had come here tonight.

"So, what is your favourite 'thing'", the Baron asked conversationally as he played another card.

The man already knew his profession so Endy didn't see any reason to be coy now. "Sex, for one. Silk, jewels - sometimes I get them as gifts from my clients, so to speak which is always nice." He had a wealthy mans taste but had been born poor. But he had ambitions to someday find himself a benefactor of sorts like his friend Flo had done. For now, however, he was as poor as church mouse and was technically homeless. Ah, well. He was still good with life for the most part.

Sex, silk, jewels... and completely without euphemism; though Djura supposed "Max" had had nobody to teach him subtlety. "With interests like that, I'm surprised you're not 'kept'", he replied, assuming the lad would know what he meant by that. "Though I suppose you prefer as much freedom as you can get."

Friendless could not help but chuckle. "That is a goal I have. I would give up my freedom for a gilded cage if it meant a warm bed at night and regular meals." He was used to depending on himself though and obviously, he had managed to survive this long. And unlike a great many in his sort of occupation, he was pretty healthy (albeit malnourished) and had no scars or the like. He knew he was just lucky but he was pretty confident in his survival skills.

Djura regarded the boy with cool, Wintry eyes. He was being actively encouraged to regard young Max as a potential source of pleasure tonight. And Djura did consider it, for the lad was coy and slim and as pretty as a lily. But he was also very young, perhaps barely out of childhood... and it was difficult to move past such an observation, at least at present.

"It seems unfair", he mused as he drew a card, "as we sit here on equal footing, that you should covet regular meals while I live like a baron." He did not mention that he was literally a baron.

"That's just how the card of life are dealt," Friendless said despite often feeling like he had been dealt the wrong ones. He had been born to be kept, he was pretty certain. He coveted regular meals but he also coveted golds, silks and gems. "Take me home - or elsewhere - with you and you could give me the taste of baron-like life for the night," Endy offered boldly.

Djura lowered his cards a moment to regard the boy and consider him. The offer was blatantly expected, but it was also tempting. For Max was a pretty one — very pretty — with his clash of fey innocence and lustful cunning, and he was smoothly androgynous, which was what Djura looked for on those rare nights that found him with a male companion. Although Djura was picky in his choice of whores, gender did not matter to him — and he was rich and powerful enough to secure utmost discretion in all of his dealings.

His green-grey eyes moved back to his cards, and he played his final hand. Djura had won the game. "Very well", he agreed coolly. "I will accept my prize."

And in Djura winning the game and accepting him as a prize, Friendless had won his part of the game. "Lead the way," he said with a salacious smile as he stood to follow where the man might have them go.
