Fletcher,

I am not offended in the slightest, in fact I'm relieved.  I'm clearly not opposed to getting married, it's more so the wedding that is intimidating to me. I would have hated to disappoint, but would do it if that's what you wanted.

How's your ankle? Has anyone else come in with news? I honestly though it would have been done by now, we seemed to be moving so fast until the crocodile. I'm still disappointing the healers apparently, though they say the wound in my leg is looking better. I can still barely sit up however, now without a mountain of pillows to prop me up. I've never been so bored in my entire life. I don't think I've ever sat down this continuously either.
Affectionately,
Eavan

Eavan,

I would never push something on to you that you are not comfortable with, Eavan. I want you to know that. And though I know it is still far to early to worry about such things, I would very much like to see you be my wife. But.. we've time for that..

My ankle is stable for the most part. I'll have a crutch for awhile then perhaps a cane for just a bit until I can rebuild it's full strength. I should be fine in time though and shouldn't have a limp or need of a cane for the remainder of my life. It was a fairly clean break though definitely on the large scale of things. I'm to a point where I rarely need a pain potion though. Unless I've been on it too much. And I've yet to hear from anyone or see anyone else. It's almost as if those of us from the expedition are in isolation of a sense. Though, some were showing signs of malaria so their best kept in quarantine for the safety of everyone else.

I'm sorry you're so bored though. I sincerely wish I could be there with you. Talking in person would surely be more entertaining than simply writing letters. Is there anything I can do for you? I can have Abigail retrieve supplies of any sort so they can be sent to you.

Yours,
Fletcher

Fletcher,

I know you wouldn't have, you've been wonderful in that respect, but I would have if you'd wanted it. I'm not quite as stubborn as my father, I can compromise. Fortunately we seem to be on the same page and it doesn't seem to be an issue.

I'm glad to hear you're expected to make a full recovery and that is no longer pains you. I'm hoping for the same over here, though it's slow going. I do expect some lovely scars. They've started using some dittany on the last of the puncture wounds to help close them up, but this last one is stubborn apparently, and very uncomfortable.  I suppose it's a relief that nobody else has come in? Is the fog still looming over town?

I'm alright, I wouldn't want to be a nuisance. I shouldn't complain, it could be much worse. The staff have found me a couple books to read and have even asked for my opinion on a creature-induced case where they couldn't identify the bite. I've been doing a little sketching and a lot of sleeping. Whatever they're giving me for the pain makes me incredibly tired. Speaking of, it's certainly time for a nap. Hopefully you'll be out soon and can come visit.
Affectionately,
Eavan

Eavan,

I'm not sure we'd be able to remain in Irvingly though, no matter how we married.. We'd not get a moments peace if we lived there, of that I could be certain. But.. I imagine we could get a lovely bit of a land in the countryside with plenty of room for your menagerie. And of course, something for ourselves.

Scars or not, you'll always be lovely. I don't expect you could ever not be, truth be told. I just hope that you're being taken care of well enough there. I'll admit, I wish I was there to help from a healer's standpoint. Though it is good to hear they've begun using dittany. It is a bit concerning that one of the wounds hasn't progressed better though.. I imagine the magical effects the strange beast had are what's to blame though. I'll continue to hope that it gets better though. I'm not sure what I'd do without you, Eavan..

I am glad to hear you've something to occupy your time though. And please, make sure you're getting plenty of rest even if you do feel to have a bit of energy. Your body has been through an awful trauma, yes I know you know this and have likely suffered before, but you need all the rest you can manage to heal properly..

Yours,
Fletcher

Fletcher,

I'll be perfectly content to land wherever, as long a there's a little bit of land to go with it. I could go back to rehabilitation if it's too far for the zoo.  I would hate to take you too far from you adoring family after all. We'll see, we have time to figure it out.

You're probably right, I'm still sore, but it's getting better. I promise I'm resting, Mother. It's about all I can do these days.  I'm going to be fine though, I promise. The worst of it is already over and I don't plan on visiting any countries with crocodiles in the near future. All will be well, you'll see.
Affectionately,
Eavan
