SENDING YOU CHRISTMAS WISHES AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!
(Imagine a more shitty drawing, and it's a bit smudged. Aka "I can't afford a real Christmas card, but I'm not artistic, so I made a friend do it.")
December 20th, 1890 Miss Dawson,
I know it is still a few days away from Christmas, and the school holidays have only just begun, but I thought I would send your card early as it is part invitation. There's to be a festival in Hogsmeade up until Christmas Eve. There are festivities in the day, but there is also to be a lovely evening market of sorts tomorrow night. I do not know if your mother would allow it, but I know many of us will be there.
Whether or not you wish to join us tomorrow, I thought I would ask -- Do you know how to ice skate? Do you fancy ice skating? A rink has been set up on High Street that is to be open all week. I believe they will be loaning out skates. Would you like to join me? Your siblings are, of course, always welcome. I believe there's skating also in Padmore Park. If you dislike skating, there seems to be many more activities. I'm sure there's something that would attract your fancy.
I do hope you are well and please do not feel as if you must accept my invitation. We will have some opportunities to skate on the Black Lake at school. I just thought you might enjoy some cheer during your holidays. If your family is anything like mine, things will be busy with so many different relatives popping in and out. It's nice to take a break sometimes. I know you aren't planning on attending the party at the Gillenwaters, so, perhaps, this would be a suitable alternative.
It would be lovely to see you, as always. I hope your family is well and your siblings aren't too irritating. I know how insufferable they can be when the excitement of Christmas draws closer and closer. Anne has been nearly vibrating.
Take care.
