Nicknames: Simply Collins; is not a fan of derivatives or presumed familiarities.
Birthdate: February 29, 1864 ( this was in fact a leap year )
Current Age: 24
Occupation: Curse Breaker
Reputation: 9 - The circumstances of his birth were complicated due to illness suffered by Mrs. Collins. Despite her husband's reputation as a Healer, she failed to survive the pregnancy. William's father never remarried and became quite reclusive, a known workaholic with a somewhat acerbic temper but otherwise flawless career, causing occasional murmurs toward what illness ailed Mrs. Collins that her husband had been unable ( or perhaps unwilling ) to treat. Due to these unfounded allegations and his father's position, William is set slightly aback from those with unblemished upbringings.
Residence: Portsmouth, Hampshire
Hogwarts House: Former Ravenclaw
Wand: Willow, 11.5", reasonably supple, unicorn hair
Blood Status: Pureblood
Social Class: Middle class
Family: Geoffrey Collins ( deceased 1884 of the Laughing Plague, an irony not at all lost upon his eldest son and only child ) was born of the relatively affable Collins family, known best for their long held dedication to mediwizardry and developments in the care and treatment of various minor ailments often known to plague the lower class. Considered charitable but otherwise unambitious, the Collins maintained an easy neutrality that aided in the maintenance of their position in society rather well.
Geoffrey's marriage to Rebecca Hartwright therefore came as some surprise, as her family very well might have had higher prospects in mind had their eldest daughter not managed to secure herself a marriage with a notable landowner whose income nearly doubled what they had anticipated netting for all four daughters combined. It was perhaps for this reason the marriage went without too much question - the two were well matched in their dedication to aiding those in need of medical attention, and Rebecca did thrive serving as Geoffrey's potioneer.
Appearance:
William is five foot nine and wiry of build, bearing a pale complexion but for a milky way stripe of freckles along his collarbone with some splatter up his neck and down his chest. With the proper cravat arrangements these blemishes remain relatively contained and faded unless he has had a fair amount of sun on his skin.
Typically held in an attempt at the queue, William’s hair is springy and has a habit of bursting loose. He keeps pins in his hair to hold it from falling into his face when this happens, and when not on duty tends to keep it in a sloppy bun at the nape of his neck or in a simple tail.
Clothing wise, he keeps to practical garments that bear up well under strain on account of his work. Typically, he works with tailors who tend with sailors and laborours - both because the quality tends to be hardy, and the cost at an affordable measure.
His right hand is his dominant, though he wields his wand as commonly with the left as the right, depending on circumstance.

Personality: William has something of a locked jaw - though he feels passionately, he was taught at a very young age that fits and bursts of emotion were unseemly and inappropriate. He took his lessons seriously and learned to keep much of his true thoughts to his chest, though he is prone to the occasional fit of humor that can smack dangerously of revolutionary ideology.
He has learned that love and affection are subject to achievement - in other words, praise and admiration of his efforts is seen as a challenge to either maintain his present productivity or to strain higher; he has a terrible sense of self value which results in recklessness, a will to place the lives of others above his own, and a certainty that he is only as good as what he accomplishes.
This, unfortunately, is the result of a deep seated sense of responsibility for his mother's death. He believes, through some fault of Geoffrey, that her life was granted in exchange for his and therefore it is his obligation and duty to live a life worthy of such a sacrifice. He bears his mistakes heavily, and is dangerously humble in his triumphs.
Other: He is absolutely terrified of heights but - if duty demanded it, or, heaven forbid, the terror of another appeared greater - he would doubtless face the challenge of his own fear to attend to matters.
Sample Roleplay Post:
One of the many endearing qualities of the young miss Edrington, beyond of course her fiery and familiar temperament that so often brought to mind his beloved sister, was the fact of her grace. She never made a show of granting his ailing nature overdue attention or lackthereof, and it was admittedly a relief to be neither fussed over nor condescended against on account of the damages time had wrought upon him.
Upon her question, he was startled into the start of a laugh - managing, toward the end, to catch it mid way and shake his head, “There is nothing to forgive,” He assured, thoroughly amused by the question, but having no wish to discourage her through the perception of his mockery. For in truth, he did not condescend but rather marvel at the idea she proposed.
“I do not believe myself to be worthy of so much effort, ma chère,” He confessed warmly, “My time of relevance in such endeavors has long since passed - for most, I am but a man well past his time who is afforded the courtesies due for his service out of proprietary obligation, but no real feeling. I imagine most tire of me, and will me to die soon if only to clear away the memories of wartime failures faster, but few who might be bothered to hurry along the process.”
Here, he smiled, “The benefit, I think, to old age is that those who once held such power with words and ideas become obsolete enough that they cannot harm their peers. While they can certainly be unkind to the young, few waste time on each other when they believe themselves responsible for shaping a future they shall never see, through their influence over youths. As I embark in very few things in my advanced years, I imagine the only person who might turn against me would perhaps be your very father, considering I am far from the sort of company he would desire for you.”
But that, of course, was an amusement between the two of them, and not a threat Andre feared, when his company clearly brought as much joy to Philadelphia as hers brought to him.
