Appearance: Tristan is tall (6 foot tall even), slender, and lean. He has dark blond hair, blue eyes, a sharp jaw and handsome features and honestly, if it weren’t for his brothers, would be quite the catch. He wears both muggle suits and wizarding robes and takes great care with his clothes as he prefers the latest fashions (even if he can’t quite afford them). He uses his wand with his right hand.

History: Tristan is born in 1867 as the third son in the family. Charming to be sure but just as quickly handed off to the nanny to care for. He is not overly charming nor overly troublesome and so he blends into the background of the family quite easily. His older brothers think they are much too mature for him and over the house of the next four years two younger sisters join the brood. They, by nature, take a great deal more attention than Tristan as they are adorable. By the time Tristan reaches the age of six he has shown his first sign of magic (to little acclaim, apparently floating during supper hardly a reason for excitement) and been included in lessons with his older brothers. Of course this is the time that Silas heads to Hogwarts. Not that Joseph really has much time for his younger brother. And of course that’s when his parents have Clara. Really, isn’t six kids enough?
So the next several years find Tristan attempting to twist himself into so charming and excellent a student and gentleman he might actually be noticed. He’s not. Instead Joseph heads to school and his mother suffers several lost pregnancies (not that he’s aware that’s what the gloom is about). It’s almost a relief when he gets his Hogwarts letter the summer of 1879.
He is sorted in Slytherin, rather at odds with his brothers before him who did not place into Slytherin. Quite frankly this is a blessing for Tristan. At school Tristan takes pains to be noticed and liked. He is charming to his classmates and diligent in his work. He takes to his course work and somehow ends up in a bit of a rivalry with Zelda Fisk, a hufflepuff in his year. She’s almost more annoying than his brothers and sisters put together. By his third year Tristan has made the Slytherin team as a chaser. He enjoys this and really does it for the popularity rather than a love of the sport (not that he will ever admit this). He also adds Care of Magical Creatures, Ancient Studies, and Muggle Studies to his coursework. In his sixth year he narrows his coursework down to what he feels will be the most practical: Charms, DADA, Herbology, History of Magic, Transfiguration, Potions. But he quite frankly has no idea what he wants to do once he graduates. He knows he will need to work but doing what he really can’t envision it. So he tries to leave his options open.
Tristan graduates in 1886 takes the first internship position he can find in the ministry - with the Misuse of Muggle Artefacts Office and naturally stays on as a full employee following his internship. The department is rather small and he feels that it is as good a place as any to build his career from. And thus is his life for the next several years. Only issue, darn Zelda Fisk, now Darrow, transfer to his department. When at last the head of office position comes available it is she, rather than Tristan (whom everyone expected would be promoted to it) that is given the position. Tristan doesn’t know what to do with this former rival of his and now boss. But he does know that once again the world has been unjust to him.
