April 24th, 1888
Dear Julius, I wish I were writing under better circumstances, however, sadly I am not. As such I shall be direct in my purpose for this letter. I am sure you are already aware that your father visited Flint Mansion yesterday to meet with Bella. Mother said that Bella is missing and that she is neither at our home nor yours. We have not heard from her at all since your father’s visit. I am very worried about my dear cousin and I had hoped that you might know her whereabouts.
I implore you to let this letter remain between the two of us as a favor to our childhood friendship. But should you hear from your sister please let her know that I am worried sick about her.
Sincerely,
Lucille Flint
