26 | Slytherin | MCMB |  Rep 9 | Floo Network Authority Employee Effie is a loyal, sensible friend, and strives to be matter-of-fact and independent, although she wishes she didn't have to be! She currently has a last ditch chance at marriage, in spite of being an awkward lesbian. She needs: ❧ Hogwarts— She is a muggleborn so latched hard onto friends from school, including Annora McKelvey. ACAB. She was a Slytherin, 1880 - May 1887, so as well as friends I would be interested in people who teased her or looked down on her etc, whether for being muggleborn or for being awkward, I do not care. ❧ A girl who knows her secret— During her time at Hogwarts, Effie kissed a girl she had been partnered on a project for and had maybe been pining over. Looking for someone her age or +1/-1 year, and preferably someone who WOULDN'T have returned her feelings. The girl didn't tell anyone (and Effie never even told her closest friends!), but The Girl maybe broke off any friendship and/or still remembers and holds it over Effie's head a little, knowingly or unwittingly. Looking for lingering awkwardness plz~ ❧ Society pals/past!failhurls/bromances— Effie debuted and did two years of the Season, hoping to find a comfortable marriage. However she is Not much of a catch, and not very charming. So in amongst many interactions that went precisely nowhere, I kind of envision her having accidentally fallen into many platonic bro!ships with bachelors or young men her age on the society scene. Like, whoops, she made some good guy friends but no one that was ever inclined to court her. She has had a late chance for marriage and is now unexpectedly courting Brooks Watson, if you have anyone connected or who would care or comment. ❧ Ministry— Effie has been working in the Floo Network Authority since late 1889. Don't ask me why but I headcanon this department as like, the I.T. department of Magical Transportation. Her office is a bunch of nerds who are So Done. People's fireplace glitches are nearly always things they have programmed wrong on their end. Effie ALSO may occasionally stalk people-she-cares-about's confidential fireplace activity logs from time to time so if you need to be confronted with something like "why does your bedroom Floo keep being used at 3am hmmm" she's your gal Also if anyone is up to no good and illegally hooking up fireplaces to the network etc she'll come for you. Etc. Why am I so excited to thread about the Floo Network this way??? I wish I knew. ❧ Romance/crushes— In spite of the fact she is very newly affianced and would like to settle down for that security in life, Effie is a lesbian so may meanwhile be harbouring other romantic delusions. Very open to her meeting women. If she develops the hots for you she will simply not be able to talk to you normally, so that's. Uh. A clue.

Okay so no Dru is too old for that HOWEVER because I am delighted by the messiness of that I do think they should have a present encounter and as well as being unsettled by Morrigan & her crowd Effie can be like "oh god no her friend is rich and intimidating AND hot?" xD

ooo yes Alvin would have liked that, awkward turtle that he is, could use a little mothering at the office lol. Kenna's available, obvi and Winnie is out there just Winnie-ing to the best of her ability, probably out of the picture if she knew Effie and Dory were friends, but she's there regardless

Seeing that we have Annie/Effie and Brooks/Effie atm we can revisit so I don't make up half of her threads lol
