After a magical attempt on her life in 1877, Queen Victoria launched a crusade against magic that, while tidied up by the Ministry of Magic, saw the Wizarding community exiled to Hogsmeade, previously little more than a crossroad near the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the years that have passed since, Hogsmeade has suffered plagues, fires, and Victorian hypocrisy but is still standing firm.
Thethe year is now 1895. It’s time to join us and immerse yourself in scandal and drama interlaced with magic both light and dark.

Are YOU attending the Sugarplum Gala on NYE, 1892? Feel free to drop thread links here for the perusal of other guests! Be sure to state whether your thread is open or private, and feel free to provide a little summary for completed threads!
NOTABLE: A portion of the drinks have been spiked with amortentia! Obviously not everyone in attendance is afflicted, but some will be prior to the host realizing as much and attempting to remedy before midnight.
A lovely London home has been decorated in all candy themed decor. Much like a gingerbread house, the interior has been turned into a virtual candy-land. Massive lollipops flank the doorframes; peppermints the size of dinner plates hang from elaborate blown arrangements on the ceiling; even powered sugar snow has been enchanted to fall on the scene and disintegrate before reaching the guests. The drinks and hors d'oeuvres are all candy themed, though some are savory, and there are a number of different fondue fountains around. Some white chocolate, some licorice-spice, some peppermint mocha, etc. Get jiggy with it <3 There will also be a private rendition of the 'dance of the sugarplum faerie' by none other than the lovely and extraordinarily talented Ms. @"Sophia Voss" (courtesy of the Magical Ballet of London) just before midnight.
I'll throw in Steliana Nicolescu as well if somebody wants to run into her.

@"Sophia Voss" is here for a handsome paycheck. She's beautifully dressed in slightly more modest ballet costume appropriate for 1890s but, ya know, ankles are out to party. Each hour leading up to midnight sees a performance of one of the following pieces with her (NPC) dance parter Dimitri: her solo, his solo, and their grand pas de deux -- basically something for all to enjoy. <3 She does not drink while working and is therefore entirely too aware of the incidents that follow.
Ida Chang is here with profound regrets. She probably gets spiked because she drinks too much at parties, so this incident will propel her into Sober January.
Cassian Valenduris is here which is shocking because he's been a social recluse since late August. TBD if he gets spiked
So! After the AC I'll be reviving Reuben Crouch, who rode in here on a friend's coattails as he's not reputable enough to merit an invite of his own.
I am extremely interested in one or both of the following:
— a thread with a man he already has some established connection with (friend, family, rivalry, whatever) so that he can be Weird about something. (Also open to establishing a relationship that doesn't exist yet to facilitate this)
— a thread with a lady who would flirt with Ben due to amortentia (his drink will not be spiked).
