History:Slim, thin, lean—all of the words mean the same to him. He prefers the word scrawny, because if he makes himself feel bad then it takes the power away from other people. He stands at a meager five feet, four inches tall, with any hopes of growing to a more respectable height having disappeared once the boys in his year began towering above him. At least his face isn't terrible-looking: his features are mostly symmetrical, he has a strong jawline, and his nose is straight. His lips are full without being awkwardly so, and his brows are thick but not bushy.
While he has no control over the quality of his clothes or the blemishes that periodically appear on his face, he does his best to look neat and tidy at all times. His dark brown hair is kept short and always combed back, and he has yet to display the ability to grow facial hair. His face is very expressive, which more often than not means his feelings are visible to anyone who looks in his direction. He wields his wand with his right hand.
| Asa is born the first child of James and Samantha Scabior. The family earned a spot among the wealthier middle class after Asa's father and uncle had worked together to develop a new piece of magical technology that, once put on the marketplace, made them a decent fortune.Personality:
| Asa's younger sister Hazel is born.
| Asa begins his education under a tutor. From the start it's apparent that he struggles with reading and writing. He cannot seem to match letter sounds to written letters, making it all the more difficult for him to learn to spell, pronounce unfamiliar words, and read at a pace that allows him to process what's on the page. With sheer stubbornness and the hand of an understanding tutor, it becomes easier for him with time, but his difficulties never completely disappear.
| The charms on the product Asa's father and uncle created seemingly expire, leaving all of their products functionally useless. On top of the complaints they receive from angry customers, their investors begin to pull, leaving the family with unpayable debt and a bad reputation in the market. Asa only remembers the period time as a stressful one—his parents frequently fighting, his father being gone for long periods of time, his mother making comments under her breath about the family's well-being.
| The family, unable to pay back their debts, begin selling off assets. For a while the effects aren't noticeable to eight-year-old Asa, who still has his tutor, his toys, and his home. However, it does not take long before the damage becomes apparent...
| The family, left with no savings and only a large, mostly empty home, makes the plunge and sells their home to pay off their remaining debts. The family moves into a London townhome that is outrageously tiny compared to their former one, but even worse than the home is their neighbors. Asa has always pitied the poor, but never liked to be around them; but now, with no inheritance in his future and a scandal to his name, society holds many of them in higher regards than him and his parents. Funny how that works.
| After being allowed some time to allow the scandal to blow over, Asa's parents register him and his sister in school. With muggles. Asa never hated muggles, but—much like the poor—he considered them unfortunate and worthy of pity. There is nothing more awkward than balancing his childhood prejudices with the newfound knowledge that a number of his classmates can (and do try to!) beat him up.
| Asa begins his first year of Hogwarts, eager to escape the hostile environment at home. He is sorted into Ravenclaw, and although proud of his placement, the shame of his family's scandal—especially when facing students he played with as children—drives him to avoid conversation entirely. Months pass, and Asa settles into routine; it is only then when he lets his guard down just enough to befriend Aristide Selwyn, one of his dorm-mates who is everything he could have been but never managed to be: smart, talented, easy to like.
| Hazel joins him at Hogwarts. Asa adds Ancient Runes and Divination to his schedule.
| Before beginning his fourth year, his father makes one thing abundantly clear: he needs to well in school. Period. His father continues to write to him while at school, demanding updates on his progress. Although his grades has never been poor, they drastically improve over a single term.
| Asa nearly collapses under the pressure of the school year. It's not that getting passing OWL scores is all that difficult, but he needs to retain at least a partial scholarship to ensure that he can continue in peace. His parents, fueled by pride, insist that he will remain for all seven years, but Asa has enough sense to understand the financial burden it will bring them. He withdrawals into himself, consumed by the stress and need to memorize every detail and perfect every incantation. He loses friends—but not Aristide, because Aristide always seems to know how to be his friend even when times are tough—but it's all worth it.
| When his OWL results return for the summer, he's earned mostly Os and Es, with the exception of two As. He returns to Hogwarts for his sixth year, far more sociable than the year before and with five classes on his schedule: Charms, Defence Against the Dark Arts, Potions, Transfiguration, and Herbology. With the free time he has, he spends his time with Aristide—and sometimes his twin sister, who insists on being there as well. He's never liked her, but this year something is different, and he just can't seem to put a finger on why.
| As Asa prepares for his seventh year, he begins to consider what he'd like to do with his life after Hogwarts. He knows one thing for sure: he doesn't want to spend his entire life slumming it up.
Stubborn. Desperately wants to appear smarter than he thinks he is. Doesn't enjoy being the center of attention. Can be insensitive when he's out of patience or feeling self-conscious. Selfish. Touchy-feely. Obsessive. Quick to sadden but easy to excite.Other:
