To Mister Selwyn,

My mother always told me that a debutante of a certain blood and family would be informed when she was in love. I was still surprised however, to open the pages of Witch Weekly to learn that it had already occurred, and the matter as good as settled.

Having never been in this position before, and lacking in the worldly ways that would inform a ladies conduct on such matters a letter seemed the most pragmatic approach.

I am available to take calls on every Monday and Thursday afternoon, Friday might be manageable but I have a standing card game with some friends that it would be bothersome to re-arrange. In the realm of flowers my tastes run to violets and orchids, roses are to be avoided at all costs.

I hope this helps, please do let me know how you like your tea, what you favour in a boutonniere and any other trifles that a lady in an appropriate amount of ardour ought to know.

'Loving' Regards

Miss G. Blackwood

Dear Miss Blackwood,

You ought to put less stock in what Witch Weekly has to say; it's unattractive.

Sincerely,
E. Selwyn

Mister Selwyn,

Oh do try to lighten up.

I note the owl was a touch crochety when he arrived, he was more amenable after getting scratched behind the ear, might I suggest his owner try the same. It might improve his mood.
