"I have heard that's the way of things," she agreed with a smile. "Well, thank you for the conversation, Mr. Aaldenberg; I shan't keep you any longer from your work," she continued, wary of keeping him talking too long and starting to bore him with this type of light banter. Then, because she was feeling slightly mischievous, she added, "I'll be quite interested to see how Professor Forfang responds. Perhaps when it happens I'll come seek you out in the library and have your opinion on the response, as well."

After his conversation with Miss Binns, most of Bertie's day went without incident. By the end of his research session, he felt much more confident in how he would go ahead with his troublesome case.
