It wasn't about replacing something he could already replace without thinking twice about it. For all she knew sometime in the future he would lord it over her and use it to his advantage. Regardless of the fact that he hadn't hurled a real insult at her since they parted ways at Hogwarts, Rowan wasn't ready to fully concede. But she knew that scarf probably cost more than half a year of her savings. What's more, Malfoy knew it too.

"I don't need anything," she responded obstinately, turning to pick up her shopping bags. What she needed was the jade dragon to have not been broken, and to have not just had a pile of snow thrown on her, and to not have run into - of all people - Raphael Malfoy.

Why hadn't she left already when she was feeling so uncomfortable? The snow that had slid down her collar had since melted and her blouse stuck to her lower back; a sensation that didn't do much to help her need to remove herself from both the situation and the area.

"Happy Christmas," she muttered, to leave.
