Did You Know?
Braces, or suspenders, were almost universally worn due to the high cut of men's trousers. Belts did not become common until the 1920s. — MJ
Had it really come to this? Passing Charles Macmillan back and forth like an upright booby prize?

Zak here did a fantastic job of making me want to keep him. However, I don't need him and he can't just randomly hang out in Scotland after his team's gone home without a reason. Especially because this guy isn't motivated by money or team prestige, he plans to take over his muggle father's business when he's too old to play quidditch anymore and live out his days contentedly and uneventfully. Although he'll never feel completely fulfilled in life not being able to legally shatter some kneecaps. Basically I want him to stay a lot more than he wants to stay and I'm on the fence.

SO what I would need for him to stay are two things:

  1. Someone who could persuade him to join their team, they'd need to be very persuasive. He's somewhere between a Hufflepuff and a Gryffindor and boyo will not ditch his father on a whim, nor is he particularly interested.
  2. Literally any other reason to further compel him. Preferably not a romantic relationship because that's what happened to my last QWC player I haven't fathomed that part of his life/backstory yet.
The best option would probably be some business opportunity he could work on for his father - if we have any characters dealing in imported luxury goods (legally, or illegally but Zak doesn't realize). I don't know if we have many characters in play who could help there so I may end up just NPCing that but we'll see.

Please don't all rush at once, I really don't need to keep him. But also I do

I don't know how to be persuasive, but I'm dying to have him on Ace Lukeson's team.

I'm not sure Zak is capable of being on the same pitch as Rufus without trying to physically incapacitate him with every available bludger... It's nothing personal, just instinctual xD

Emrys Selwyn does luxury imported goods! Or his shipping company does, anyway. He's just a middleman and doesn't actually buy/sell things so not sure if that works for you.

Thom Pettigrew has an established history of being v. persuasive in pursuit of whoever his latest favorite Quidditch player is, so that's a potential avenue. And he is also a little grumpy at Rufus Bixby for jumping ship and going to the Arrows so he might leverage that if you like :P

The Delaney family deals with legal and illegal shipping. They expanded to London from America a couples years back and I could see them trying to establish shipping in the Mediterranean and could find a reason Shawn Delaney would recruit Zak.
