Dear JP,

I apologize for the boldness of my letter, but I have exhausted all other options. I am looking for my friend, Saoirse as you call her. The last she was seen was on August 22 at the Quidditch World Cup. I know this is a long shot, but I had hoped you might know something anything that might shed some light on her disappearance. Even the smallest peice of information could help find her. If you think of anything please write send your owl to to the attached address.

Most Sincerely,
MS

The note is sent from Fallon’s ministry desk through the memo system. Scribbled at the bottom is the address for St. Mungo’s attention to MLS.

MS,

No apologies necessary, your letter is most appreciated. Unfortunately I have no answers to your question, only more questions myself. She's missing? I was out of town on assignment until the 25th, so our correspondence lapsed for a few days, but I have not heard from Saoirse since the 19th. You say she was at the quidditch match, but what was the last time anyone saw her? A week missing that's bound to raise some eyebrows, especially considering she works at the ministry.

Though we have been corresponding somewhat anonymously, I believe it's time to end the facade due to the seriousness of the sitution, can you please send me our mutual friend's full name, so that I may inquire as to her department within the ministry to see what's being done.
Appreciated,

Mr. Hatchitt,

I thank you for your prompt response and the seriousness with which you have accepted this news. I would be much obliged if you might look into the matter for me. I do believe that she shall be most upset at this breach of privacy but I believe given the circumstances it is warranted. Her name is Miss Fallon Abernathy.

I reported her missing last week when she had not come home for several days. Normally she at least sends me a note. The aurors have told me they heard that she was seen in a London pub on the evening of the 22nd but there is no further trace of her.

It is not like her to disappear with no word. If you are able to find out anything, I would be most grateful. She is like a sister to me.

Most sincerely,

Miss Skovgaard,

I will accept full responsibility for breaking the anonymity, but yes I agree, the severity of the circumstances, dictate as much information as available.

Most fortunately, my brother is also an Auror and I was able to get a little inside information. It seems that an illegally forged portkey may have something to do with it. Unfortunately, there is little way to track them if they have not been secured by the ministry officially. Hopefully, whoever did make it was strictly capable of doing it correctly, and it will reactivate appropriately.

I will keep investigating, though it is out of my wheelhouse exactly, and keep you up to date as best I can. If you do hear from her, please let me know.
Best,

Mr. Hatchitt,

Thank you so much for the news. It most certainly is not good news, but any little bit helps. I can not help but worry as each day passes. To know that she was not dead and forgotten in a woods outside the city is reassuring, although I must admit that a portkey is less reassuring.

If you hear anything at all or need anything please do let me know.

Sincerely,
