History: A Halfblood with a wizarding father and a muggle mother Alice never truly felt at peace with her surroundings growing up and her parents rather rocky marriage - her father had not told his wife before marriage that he was a wizard and it was a bit of a surprise for her when she found out- convinced her to never marry unless it was somebody who truly understood her. Another event that shaped her early life and personality was the discovery that her favorite cousin was diagnosed with a blood malediction and it inspired her dream to become a healer and find a miracle cure and she completed all seven years with that dream firmly in her mind.
Whilst studying to become a Healer she meets “Harry”, “Bill” and “Sam” all of whom she finds herself sleeping with within a very short window of time and then discovers herself pregnant. She hides her pregnancy, successfully, and puts the baby up for adoption as she recognizes that she is no way capable of caring for a child and she does not wish to give away her dream as a Healer. The experience teaches her that to put a lock on her heart and she swears off of men. The only people who know the truth of her child are herself and those who managed her adoption.
She works for St Mungos however begins to suffer empathy burnout because of the nature of her work and she is forced to recognise that she is not one step closer to helping her cousin. Her cousins' death in 1876, and possible suicide caused her to take a leave of absence from work as a healer at which time she chose to leave her job at St Mungos and seek more fulfilling, less depressing work.
She chooses to start work as school nurse at Hogwarts for the 1876-1877 year after the previous one retired and has continued to work there since.
Personality: Alice is a person with many personalities according to the situation.
In her youth she was: Fiercely independent, passionate, courageous and she knew what she wanted from life. She was sunny, honest, hard-working but also very reckless which is what led her to her issues with men.
In adult hood: She retained her independence and passion though it was tempered with more wisdom from experience. She suffered burnout from being unable to help people at the hospital and found herself getting rough and feeling dead inside. She still finds herself cut off from many of those emotions.
To the children: She can be a bit rough around the edge with kids who clearly need to realise that what their suffering is indeed fixable. She’d like to think if she’d met her younger self she would’ve accepted and helped steer her away from bad decisions but knows that she probably wouldn’t even stood a chance.
Other:
She is rather transient in terms of address and doesn't own much property. She does however own a pet barn owl called Flitwick and a grey tabby cat called Queen. Her patronus is a Snow Leopard.
