Did You Know?
Braces, or suspenders, were almost universally worn due to the high cut of men's trousers. Belts did not become common until the 1920s. — MJ
Had it really come to this? Passing Charles Macmillan back and forth like an upright booby prize?

I was so very pleased to see your name listed under the first string roster! I hope you will forgive me for saying so, but it was quite the pleasant surprise—as you know, I am personally acquainted with Mr. Prewett, and he has only a few droplets more respect for female players than his stodgier counterparts.

I am also thrilled to know that there shall be someone present to keep Mr. Prewett in line. He can be a bit of an ass if left to his own devices.

Congratulations!

Miss Darrow,

I write to congratulate you for finding a place on the British National Quidditch Team. It is quite a feat to be so recognized, even on the second string—and particularly for a member of our sex. To see not one, but two Harpies find such success has filled me with hope for a world in which my daughter can eclipse her father on the pitch.

Sincerely,
D. Pettigrew

Dezzie,

And you’ll forgive me saying it was a gross injustice not to see your name there too! I imagine they were too scared to have any of us at all on the team if they could help it, so I shan’t mind giving Mr. Prewett a vexingly hard time. Really, though, in the perfect universe I’d rather be the third wheel of a chaser to you and your husband and giving you a hard time. But pass on my congratulations to your Mr. Pettigrew, and thank you for yours.

In the meantime, you can guide the Harpies to victory in the playoffs and give Mr. Prewett a bloody great fright of your own, I say.

See you soon,
Gus
