Is the Ministry utterly losing control of Hogsmeade? It certainly feels that way after yesterday saw an end to the unexplained darkness that fell upon all areas affected by the fog - which has shown no signs of shifting away - and rather than celebration shoppers were instead swamped by toads that had hopped all the way from the Black Lake. No one at the Ministry has been able to offer a satisfactory answer as to why the normally placid creatures left their habitat and the Department for the Regulation and Control for Magical Creatures, when asked what emergency measures they are taking replied only "Don't be ridiculous, they're just toads."

Are they? Is the darkness just darkness? Is the fog just fog? Are the Ministry completely out of their depths or does Mr Ross have something up his sleeve?
