39 | UCHB | Ravenclaw Class of '75 | Auror | SevenA cheerful spirit, Locke never seems to take anything seriously and always has some kind of joke on hand. And he's been this way since Hogwarts where he garnered a reputation for coming up with prank spells and a growing tally of detentions. Now, years later, Locke isn't society's shinning star by any means. He's carried his reputation as a rake a bit longer than the average upper class man and used to take his mistress with him to events until she died in childbirth in 1889. Since then he's carried out his affairs in slightly less public ways though hasn't really changed. No, what he is more known for is his choice to take in his three bastard children four years ago.

FRIENDS. He has been fest friends with Ozymandias Dempsey since their first year and is mostly found in circles of UC men who frequents gambling, opium dens, and underground parties but could know someone from school, work, or more normal society events. He's a pretty pleasant personality and unless your don't like the cheerful type or he offends your sensibilities he is probably pretty easy to get along with.

COWORKERS. Locke started auror training later than traditional when his parents threatened to cut him off unless he cleaned up his act. Getting a job as an auror was a bartering act to turn his family's attention away from his lifestyle. and was quickly in over his head however in the time it took to complete his training he has come to actually love the job even if he makes light of it saying he just took the post of the action. You may however hate him as he does anything in his power to pawn off his paperwork to literally anyone else.

HURLS. Both open to short and long-term unofficial things and actual marriage hurling. While the death of his mistress did sort of put him off his sleeping around lifestyle for a while he has since resumed but not necessarily at the same frequency and not with anyone long-term as he's a bit reluctant for emotional attachment again. However want to and what happens can always be two different things? Additionally with family pressure to get married and his kids getting older it has occurred to him that have a mother around would be useful so he is looking to marry preferably uc though he realizes he can't be too picky and isn't looking for a love match out of it. Though he still hopes for one.

Regardless of official or not, Locke is quite romantic and very much the type to spoil his lover with gifts and be publicly affectionate.

OTHER. While he wasn't actually active with it, on paper he was Oz's campaign manager and as such has probably curated the image he is into politics even though he thought the whole thing was a joke and would only last three days. But now that Oz was actually elected he feels obligated to continue to offer support professionally/socially. Maybe someone see him as a direct line to the minister? Or something else?

I'm also open to pretty much everything else. He is kinda my free for all.

I can start something for Lycoris and being friends with Desi seems like a very likely thing with the personality/social overlap and potential runins at the ministry!

Obvious Sina things, Ivy Sandow is neutral about him, could be friendly with Elliot Carmichael

I would be thrilled to figure out how Locke and Sina get along. I think on surface level he would flirt with her but it would only be surface level and wouldn't actually mean anything by it other than friendly intentioned annoyance. Friends' wives are off the table. I'm sure they run into a bit with how often Locke and Oz see each other.

For Ivy, if it is something you might be interested in, Locke would have been an auror long enough to have mentored her for her third year?

And for Elliot we could always toss them in a thread and see how they get along?

Christabel is an obvious one! Not sure if she counts as a 'friend' or not, but probably does since she doesnt dislike him, she just think's he a bit of an eejit. She probably thinks he's a bit of an idiot - like she does her brothers.

She does low key respect his decision to take in his children, as poorly as society thinks of it. She would prefer he had kept it in his pants, but he hasn't abandoned the kids, so he gets points for that. She does buy 'treats' like toys and books for the kids, more so since Victor died. She doesn't have kids, and nieces and nephews are looking DISTANT, so they are sort of the closest she has.


Vera - he probably knows him from the less salubrious parts of society, but he won't know her. Some of her 'masquarade' parties he might have attended, tend to be drinking and drugs related.

Isis - he might be aware of her since she does bare-knuckle fighting and is a common enough sight in the underground boxing circuit.

Hey Tristian still has a few years on him. It could very well still be in his future. Locke's dad is still very unhappy.

In regards to work, if they were around when he started then they probably would have picked up he was doing solely because his family forced him to and he thought being an auror would be a lot of thrills. He has since then actually come to like his job and is quite good at it but is probably a royal pain in the butt to his bosses because of his avoidance of paperwork. That and he proably isn't someone everyone enjoys working with.

Hmmm I'd say acquaintances in the sort of we'll talk if we run into each at events or at the club but he seems a bit to proper for Locke to like as an aqual friend. Unless Locke interacts with Cal just to please his dad because he thinks Cal is the type of friend his dad would like.

For Phie we can throw them in a thread and see how they do? And reapproach Irene when she is more ya know aware.

I LOVE the idea of Locke as Ivy's mentor. She is now defensive of him. Also Sina probably puts up a front of being annoyed by the flirting but clearly enjoys the banter?? Like the Elliot idea, too!
