❧ Homosexual | Unattached ☙
❧ Political Activist & Suffragist ☙

First, thank you to Kit because I totally stole your coding for this. Anyway, hello, this is Miss Heather Parkinson, and she gets an introduction thread because she’s an adult and there’s way more people she can befriend than my other characters. Heather is the sixth Parkinson child and second daughter (first legitimate one) and when she was in school she was sorted into Slytherin, though she could have been a Ravenclaw. Heather is a seer, though all of her visions are in some sort of code with heavy symbolism so she has to decipher them herself in order for them to be of any use to her. Currently, she’s technically a debutante, having had both a Hogwarts debut and a private one, but she would most likely wish to be known for her political activism as she is known to organize rallies, write articles and pamphlets, and speak out about her beliefs which are pro-being and halfbreed rights, anti-classism, and support for women’s suffrage.

❧ school: Heather attended Hogwarts from 1885-1892 and was in the Slytherin house; she was most known for doing palm and tarot readings in the courtyard as well as her prowess in dueling club. She also became president of the divination club in her final year of schooling! If you were around at this time, maybe you knew her? I would love to do some past threading.

❧ activism: Do your characters sound like the type to attend a women’s suffrage rally or huddle into a public hall to hear talk about how we should give rights to everyone, including beings and halfbreeds or even how they should be doing more to help the working class? Maybe you know Heather from this! She organized quite a bit as well as written many pieces on the subjects; if you want to reference a random article or pamphlet she’s written or a rally you attended where you heard her speak in the background of a post, that’s fine, I wouldn’t mind it at all. During this election, she is a lot more politically active and has probably bugged your ministerial candidates for an official statement on their opinions about these subjects.

❧ friends: Though in her more private life, she can come off as a bit reserved or cold because she doesn’t trust anyone when she first meets them, she actually has a warm, kindhearted personality that is nice to be around. She’s definitely the big sister type, that, or the wine aunt who shows up with a bunch of gifts for your kids for no reason. She can be a bit chaotic at times, not having an issue with bending or breaking the rules to get what she wants; the idea is to just not get caught. If you’re a current member of Rip Van Winkle, you’re probably pretty familiar with this side of her because she can be herself and outgoing there. Depending on the level of friendship you’re on, you may even know her sexuality and her inclination for dressing in men’s clothing. She is fairly nonjudgmental and has a very live and let live outlook on life.

❧ enemies: Given she is an upper class girl who thinks her place is in a male dominated career and she has a thing for telling men nobody cares what they have to say regarding women’s suffrage among other things, and she’s a political activist in general, she’s bound to make quite a few enemies. Whether it’s women who don’t agree with what she has to say, maybe think she’s stuck up or doesn’t know her place, or it’s men who don’t like that she’s trying to change the status quo, Heather knows that she can be pretty unpopular in certain circles. Then, there’s her society life; she puts on airs, is polite and does her thing to make sure not to embarrass herself too badly, but it’s obvious she has little interest in finding a husband and she has turned down at least one man’s proposal before (if you want to be this guy, lmk) and that might make people not like her so much either. She doesn’t let these people’s opinions stop her, but she can be distrustful of strangers because of it.

❧ hurls: Despite the fact she has slept with one man (in her seventh year) and she did get proposed to once by a guy, Heather is very much a lesbian and has zero interest in getting married. It is her goal to dodge suitors until she’s finally a spinster so she can have the freedom to get started on a career - or wait until her father dies and go for it then. She supposes she would consider marriage if the other man was gay and it was some sort of lavender marriage thing, but there would have to be much discussion first; and that’s assuming her father doesn’t arrange something for her first. Heather has never had a long term relationship with a woman, she would likely tell you that both she and her brother are doing the whole rakish early twenties thing. She’s mostly just hooked up and done some flirting around, but she wouldn’t be opposed to something more serious one day. She and her “best friend” can live together forever and then confuse future historians.

I have Victoire Malfoy who was a Slytherin a couple years ahead and also ucpb but I feel like they are unlikely to be friends now? Torie is very into the Deb life, courting and ready to be a society wife, but I don't think she'd frown upon someone with different values, just probably wouldn't be allowed to hang out, if that makes sense?

Tala Moreno is my best/most political lady, but more casually than purposefully, she hangs out with a lot of activists though!

Bronwyn Moony is my bi lady, but is currently shacked up with a dude. Open to flirtations though!

Victory, obviously.

Cane Backus, Wallace Bixby, Aristide Selwyn and Aleksei Nichols

Ari's twin sister is Adrienne Lestrange who was a Slytherin and thus her dormmate. They were inseparable their first year so she would be very aware of him. If Adri and Heather were friends, Ari was likely her friend too because he and his sister tended to just absorb each others friends for the most part save for some exceptions. He is currently going through A Time as his male lover died in his arms and hes entering his Unhinged Achilles era.

Aleksei Nichols is my non-binary, androsexual (only attracted to men) child. They are perceived as a man but that feels very wrong to them. They are a bit of a sewing prodigy and makes themself beautiful dresses and womens fashion because that is what they prefer... but alas, they are stuck in mens clothes. They have not yet discovered Rip Van Winkle otherwise they would probably wear these designs there.

Citrine Weasley is my resident lesbian. She had not had hookups but there could be a flirtation there!

Harry here is probably my most viable character. Gay, member of Rip Van Winkle, and king of chaotic energy. XD He hates Willful Ignorance more than he hates most anything else, so he tends to be far-left-leaning. He's also gay, eccentric and muggleborn, so he's always going to have someone who doesn't like things he can't control about himself so... solidarity.

That makes sense for Victoire; I imagine there are a lot of girls that aren't allowed to spend time with Heather anymore thanks to her choices in life. It makes her sad, but she gets it and she wouldn't shame them for it.

Tala is welcome at any of the activist meetings; even if she isn't hardcore into it like Heather, all the support she can give is appreciated!!

If Heather suspects she has a chance, she will flirt xD Whether it leads anywhere is an entirely different situation. Though, she might be a bit old for her, as Heather only just turned 20. Regardless, if there's chemistry, even for just a flirtation, it might not matter Smile

I wonder what chaotic lesbian thing she did to earn Vic's invite lmaooo

Cane & Wallace - she'd know from school being in the same year. I don't know if they'd still keep in contact or anything but she probably sent a condolence letter to Wallace after Sloane died just to be courteous anyway.

I took Aristide's open for the dragon thing!! I figured they'd know each other (at least from Chester & Liliana's wedding, if not from school) but I didn't want to just assume. Either way, she feels so sad for him and though she knows she can't really cheer him up, she still offers her support and friendship. <3

As for Aleksei, they should trade - you wear my pretty pastel debutante gowns and I'll wear your fancy gentleman waistcoats. They would've known each other in school, since Aleksei was in the year below her, but I don't know if they would've been friends or anything. Still, if they do find RVW, Heather is happy to see them dressed in cute things and compliment them <3

Citrine! Cutie! Citrine also might have known Heather in school, with Citrine in the year above her, may have helped her with Arithmancy because Heather was awful at it because numbers are not her thing xD But!! Heather would definitely flirt with her if given the opportunity.

WLW & MLM Solidarity 4Ever; I love the idea of them hanging out together at RVW and just being chaotic.

Aleksei was in her year! All the ones I linked together were (I meant to say "were all in her year" rather than just mysteriously linking them all without context xD). <3 (theres a handy list) - if she was friendly and not mean about them being muggleborn, Aleksei would have happily befriended her. <3

Alexa, play Candy Store from the Heathers Musical :P

Haiii like Kit said, I have Adrienne here who was a dorm mate! I think Adrienne and Heather would get on pretty well, though they might not have started out that way? Idk Adrienne is also not very open when it comes to making friends; I imagine the process is quite slow, but when she does become your friend you've got her for life #French lmao imagine a coconut, hard to break into but soft on the inside

I also have Philomena Sprout who is a seer! She's older than Heather, but if Heather is ever in London at Evergardens - the sprouts family magical greenhouse - then she'd have likely run into Phie.

Sen here was a year older than her in Slytherin and she's bi :eyes

She also sneaks away using her powers, most of the times posing as a man.

I have:

Jude Wright for political things, I imagine they probably already know each other quite well from the lefty/pamphlety/rally scene? Jude was also raised UC but has been an activist for years~ Allies??

Also: Estelle Malfoy: debutante who would definitely dislike her xD

@"Jemima Farley", who was the year above her at school, kinda admires her but also definitely too shy to say, naive and more of a follower than a leader and would definitely have pestered her for Divination things at school. She's very keen to get married and has a history of being boy crazy so it would be funny if someone tried to get her on the #feminism train

Porphyria Dempsey is much older but a Goth Spinster Poet and known weirdo in society. She would find Heather fun. Also her brother is running for Minister xD

look ANOTHER beautiful bee!set <3
