They are also Catholic, though they try to at least keep this somewhat guarded, and all members of the family have at some point partaken of street peddling, to help support the large number of children.

Slender, red-haired, and blue-eyed Sorcha stands five feet tall precisely. Her fair skin is decorated with a faint spatter of freckles, almost unnoticeable, across her nose and the apples of her cheeks, with one single freckle making an appearance in the arch of her cupid’s bow. She wields her wand and her quill in her left hand. Her clothing is almost always obvious hand-me-downs that don’t quite fit right, except for her work robes, which were bought second-hand, care and charms applied to make them look like new. Well, at least one set was. She has since purchased a spare set of brand-new robes, her first and thus far only splurge purchase.

History:

1874 Sorcha is born, the second daughter and third child of Thomas and Keeva MacRae.
1875 A second son, Flann, is born; Sorcha is but an infant and does not particularly care all that much.
1878 Another daughter is born, Alina. At four years old, Sorcha finally cares a bit that she has another sibling, though she doesn’t remember much of it. Not long after, the family moves from Ireland, to attempt to make their way in London. Sorcha doesn’t remember why the decision was made. Her parents take up occupations — Mother in the Binns household, Father at a factory — and expect their elder children to help with street-peddling when able and available.
1879 Another girl is born, and her parents begin trying to name their children in a more English style. Unfortunately, this results in a daughter named Page — like the page of a book. This same year, Breccan begins his Hogwarts education.
1881 Left alone with little Page one day, to keep an eye on her while the others do their daily chores of work or street peddling, Sorcha first manifests magic in the form of something of a shadowplay, to keep the toddler interested. No one else witnesses it, though they believe it happened.
1882 Breccan departs Hogwarts following his third year, to allow Treasa to attend. Unfortunately, Treasa doesn’t make it past her first year scholarship, due to poor grades and a lack of ambition. The eldest two siblings take up part-time work in the same factory as their father. Recognizing the reasons for Treasa’s educational failings, Sorcha redoubles her efforts with reading and writing — while it cuts into her time for street peddling, she reasons that if she can have enough of an education to get a worthwhile occupation, she can repay her parents by helping her younger siblings to continue their education.
1883 Petra is born.
1884 Reynold is born.
1885 Finally, it is Sorcha’s turn to attend Hogwarts. Her sorting takes almost a minute, as she debates the merits of Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff, before the hat settles the matter and sends her to Hufflepuff. Back home, Breccan gets a job as a shop employee.
1886 Sorcha’s youngest sibling, Esmeralda, is born. Flann begins his education now, while Sorcha relies heavily on a partial academic scholarship to ensure she remains at the school.
1887 Sorcha decides to add both Muggle and Ghoul Studies to her course list, as Flann leaves the school following his first year of education. Treasa signs up for the new school of domestic service training.
1888 Treasa marries. Sorcha is pulled from school for the event, which takes place on a Saturday, but not a Hogsmeade Saturday. Flann finds a prospective employer willing to pay his way through the introductory course at the Blishwick school.
1889 Alina gets a job??? Sorcha is both jealous and proud of her little sister, and beyond pleased, though confused.
1890 Sorcha sits for her OWLs, and when she gets her grades back, she decides not to continue, as Alina’s education begins. She applies to the Muggle Liaison Office, and by some luck manages to land the position. She hopes to eventually get an Apparition license, something her youth leaves her unable to obtain at the moment.
