I hope you are well. I've heard your father-in-law has taken ill, and I thought it pertinent to check in on my dearest elder sister. How is your family? Perhaps I ought to pay a call your way in the next few days. And perhaps it wouldn't be remiss of me to host a party in the next few weeks, either. I'm certain my house could handle it, even if the season's ended. I've got an excuse, after all.
It has been a while since I've last written, so I must inform you — we've welcomed our first daughter. Her name is Jeanette. It is most strange, to have a daughter now. A girl who will one day follow in our footsteps — go to finishing school, marry, have children of her own. Merlin, the thought of being a grandmother is terrifying. Why is it I've only begun to contemplate such things with a daughter?
Please write back as soon as you are able with a day and time I should pay a call. I would love to see you, sister.
