December 22, 1892 — Padmore Park; About 3 hours before sunrise
Dimitri had come into a small bit of money after selling some of his belongings and his family had been people he had been missing for a while now. Dimitri ended up having a busy night as he played the role of Old Saint Nick throughout the night for his family. First had been his parents house in London after he had gotten a wizard friend to side apparate him there. He had made his way across their yard to the tree that they had always decorated for the holidays. He had left gifts for them under the tree which had waterproof spells cast on them just in case it snowed before anyone in the household discovered them. He hoped no one would steal them but there was not much he could do about that. At least his parents lived in the more affluent neighborhood where such things tended to be a rarity.
He knew that he probably should not even be thinking of his parents on the holidays considering that they disowned him. But his feelings about everything always had been a complicated mess. He loved them as much as he resented them for having abandoned him. It was not like he had ever asked for this life of a vampire.
Managing to leave their home undetected, he and his friend Apparated back to Hogsmeade. His friend had already cast waterproof spells on the other gifts so they left him to his own devices. Dimitri had thanked them for their help and made his way to Wellingtonshire to the homes of his siblings. For them, he left their gifts on their doorsteps. He was in contact with one of his brothers and that one had especially gotten something nice from him.
Done with that, he ventured into Padmore Park and sat on one of the benches to rest before heading back to his cavern. It would be some time yet before the sun would be rising - about two or three hours. The only people out and about were people with jobs that required early rising such as the lamplighters. Probably other vampires were roaming around too, who knew? Some of society were also likely finally schlepping their way home from whatever event that they had been at.
