Appearance:
August carries himself with the confidence and great posture of a former athlete. Standing at a tall nearly 6’2”, August’s frame is lean and in shape despite having no quidditch matches to actively be involved in anymore. Old habits die hard they say, and he finds great comfort and clarity when working out. His skin is fairly tanned from all the time he spends outside, and a few freckles adorn his face here and there along with a faint scar that runs through the front of his left eyebrow from when he cracked his head in the storm. Blue green eyes are framed by long lashes, and his medium brown hair is wavy with natural highlights from the constant sun exposure he gets. He dresses in fairly nice clothes and generally appears very nice and put together [thanks to Febs], however he will always choose whatever is the comfiest of options. He is right handed.
History:
-Childhood:
August was born the first child to Peter and Rose Lynch, only to than be quickly joined by his twin sister February. A string of sisters quickly followed in the years after his birth with no brother in sight. As a result, growing up August usually found himself easily outnumbered and subsequently the victim of many pranks and jokes at his sister’s hands. In the younger days there was more than one occasion where Mrs. Lynch found her son crying in a dress that had been forced upon him.
To perhaps save his son from the hands of his devious sisters, Peter took August out to his very first Quidditch game at the age of 4. August had already taken to messing around on a toy broom since the time he could barely start to walk, clearly loving the feeling of being able to zip around. While not being able to completely understand everything that he saw at the game yet, it would leave a lasting impression on him that would last for the rest of his life. Motivating him solely was the idea, concept, possibility, of anything quidditch. Silly stuff like academics seems like a boring novelty.
-Academic Years:
Him and Febs are both quickly sorted into Gryffindor. It is also here that August quickly became best friends with his dormmate Ignatius Wilde. The pair hit it off and quickly become two troublemaking peas in a pod. Thankfully Febs keeps a watchful eye on the pair to remind them that things such as schoolwork should, in fact, actually be done. His twin’s influence is the sole reason August even manages to stay afloat at Hogwarts, as he is often too busy daydreaming about Quidditch or his and Nate’s next big adventure. Once there is an opening on the team, August tryouts and lands the position of beater on the team.
-After Schooling:
Shortly after graduating August moved into playing professional quidditch first-string. Quite easily the most amazing thing that could have happened to him considering it feels like he’s finally accomplished his lifelong dream. This however does not last long, as on New Years eve in the winter of 1885 August gets caught in a rather violent storm and catapulted into one of the massive trees of the forest he’s flying above. The accident leaves him concussed and with amnesia, as well as an injury to his leg from where the wand in his pocket split into wood shrapnel and pierced him on impact.
After the accident and healing up at a muggle hospital, August begins living on the streets of London as a working class muggle. He can’t recall anything before waking up in the hospital, and with only an engraved pocket watch on him at the time, he assumes the engraved ‘Peter’ must be his name. The lack of food and his usual physical care taken for an athlete's body quickly alter him into a malnourished and scruffy looking poor man. During this time August befriends two muggles named Bram and Linden. The trio work small odd jobs together and execute ways to steal food from shops and stands through distraction tactics. There is also a woman who goes by Meri that comes by the streets often to hand out older pastries. He’s never quite sure where she comes from, because he’s fairly certain he’s never seen a bakery from the direction she appears from, but he gladly accepts the offerings despite not usually enjoying sweets.
On July 17th of 1887, August is found by a man claiming to know him and be his best friend. He is swiftly taken to a town he doesn’t remember at all and checked into a hospital while being overwhelmingly greeted and tearfully hugged by people claiming to be his family. This is how he finally learns that people have been looking for him the whole time, but just unable to find him. The process of gaining back his memories is an extremely hard concept to grasp. Suddenly his life is filled with not just people he doesn’t feel like he knows, but also the concept of magic. It takes a few months, but glimpses of his past life slowly start to come back to him. He often finds that his dreams are extremely vivid as well, and while not knowing these are memories, the feelings that he feels when reliving them greatly aid in him settling back into the structure of his family and friend group and understanding how deeply he feels for all of them.
It takes some time to adjust, but as August remembers and relearns of his love of quidditch it quickly becomes his obsession all over again. Suddenly making sense why every strong breeze that came through the London streets made him close his eyes, and without fear he mounts a broom again. He finds the flying to be almost second nature, as if his body remembers every little grain of passion he’d previously poured into it. However, the state of his body and the recovery it requires means an end to his quidditch career as he no longer possesses the same level of strength to be swinging around a bludger bat throughout a whole match. It’s a hard pill to swallow, but after everything he’s gone through August refuses to let this be the thing that defeats him. Instead steering his love and passion into flight instructor so he can help mold the next generation of quidditch players.
