Muahahaha. This is Iago! He is an Obliviator for the Law Enforcement Office. He's an ex-Slytherin graduate from Hogwarts and he's an accomplished legilimens and occlumens. (He uses these talents FREQUENTLY, both for work and socially.) He has a bit of a hazy history that nobody knows the true details about, but rumors have swirled throughout his life that his father went to Azkaban for murdering his first wife. Iago was raised primarily as a muggle in his years prior to Hogwarts too, but he has worked tirelessly to bring himself up out of that and do everything properly, respectfully, and climb the social/reputational ladder within the Wizarding community.

He's managed to wiggle his way into the confidences of respectable, powerful men. As such, he's even managed to find himself welcome in some social circles he might otherwise have had no right to be a part of. He's generally regarded as "honest" and intelligent. If you ever need someone to jealously guard a secret and help you out of a pickle? "Ask that lovely fellow, Iago! He's rather resourceful." He's also quite a friendly chap and doesn't outwardly show bias of any kind against muggles, or classes. His personal feelings are rather another matter.

I'm open at any/all fun plottage things for him, but specifically looking to make some fun connections for him with "higher ups" in the ministry.  

• Colleagues (Ministry & "other") - Iago's primary goal in life is to climb the ranks of the ministry. He's a smooth talker, very friendly, and always willing lend a helping hand to prove himself. He works many hours, often taking on extra work, and he generally has the highest success rate of any obliviator thus far.
  
• MC/UC peers - Socially I'm sure there's a lot of people that still look down their noses at him because of his rumored 'history'~ Still, I'm hoping I can find a few UC/powerful MC peeps to have him be friendly with. Let me know if you're interested!
  
• Love interests - LOL he's a hoe. Iago is very abstractly aware that he's bisexual. He has zero qualms swinging left or right. He would like to marry and have a wife serve as his partner in crime, but he's also head over heels in love with Cass so there's a plot twist to untangle. (Low-key, I want an Emilia for him tho.) And some fun distractions from Cass since that's p. much doomed.
  
• Disdain amongst the masses - Likely there are those who disdain Vince for, well, EVERYTHING about him. He's a social climber, he's very solidly halfblood (raised as a muggle), his lineage is sordid at best, and his father's name carries a negative connotation in most wizarding circles. Oh well, if you can't beat them kill them.

Murdock is pretty canny, I would suspect he would get the measure of him, but he also prefers intelligence and hard work to natural rank - and obviously understands the value of secrets and the impact of family

He and Thaddeus are likely to be rather fraught - so he would be torn between wanting someone like Iago to contribute to the Institute as a tutor, given that he knows advanced magic, but his social climbing and blood status would not make them 'friends' although Thad wouldn't be outright disdainful and would could probably 'use' each other- Iago gets access and the appearance of acceptance - Thad will drop Iago into conversations as proof he isn't totally bigoted! :D

Bernard and he are total opposites! Bernard has a UC, PB, well connected family and ZERO ambition, like he was relieved that his nomination to the Wizengemot failed. An unlikely friendship pairing could be fun! Iago always hustling and Bernard being constantly confused by the desire! Bernard would also have no issue inviting Iago to things - fancy ball 'Sure come, I dont know why you'd want to - it's going to be boring AF, but if you want to have no fun...come along'

wheee, yes! Potential bonding, if they go that route. (Not that Iago would know why, lol.) I could see them being amicable, by design? If/when Iago starts his scheme to sink 'Othello' - he'd 100% want Murdock's ear, even if that means a forced awkward encounter. He's good at positioning himself in the right place/time and winging it.

That said, Vince doesn't come off as a social climber, I want to say? At least not obviously? Other than maybe showing up at events he's invited to, but socially should have declined lol. He keeps most of his opinions to himself too. He is a butt kisser though soooo Murdock can make of that what he will lol.

@Thad -

Lololol, yessss I think this works perfectly! He'd /love/ to be involved with the institute, if Thad wants him. I think it would bolster him a little bit in that way you mentioned about 'I'm not a pariah!' and then yes, whatever Thad needs he's here for. Even if he needs someone to obliviate a potential victim off the books >>; He's a good secret keeper.

Ahahahaha, his av always makes me laugh. I LOVE the idea of them being unlikely friends! Vince doesn't have any actual friends yet, save for maybe Cass who he's put out with atm anyway, but I think they could be fun! Maybe it started by accident? Vince thinks 'oh this is a powerful family, I can use this on my side' and then as they hangout it becomes 'lol, it is kindof nice to have someone to just pal around with who doesn't think I have leprosy..." He also very much needs an in to events so YES >D If Bernard is open to it, Iago will be his personal amusement at these events lololol and a leech to his side.
