March 31st, 1888 - High Street for this!
Emmline had come to loathe breaks away from the school. Her family seemed to be in a constant state of anger and tension, leaving her feeling quite uncomfortable any time she was at home. It didn't help that she still kept in contact with her older brother while her father and sister simply chose to ignore the fact he even existed. It was really quite frustrating. And disheartening.

With a sigh, she found herself meandering about High Street alone. Anything really to get away from the house. The short breaks didn't allow for a job as most wouldn't want a student for just a week but the short amount of time spent had home had caused her to decide she most certainly needed a summer internship if she was to survive the summer home. She couldn't spend any extra time at home or she'd surely suffocate from all of the tension.

She hadn't really been paying attention to where she was going and after accidentally bumping into someone and muttering an apology, she noticed a brightly covered egg on the ground. A faint smile spread onto her features as she bent over to pick it up only for another hand to reach for it and to touch it at the same time. The egg vanished and in its place was a shiny new sickle, causing Emmy to blush slightly but motion to the person whose hand had also touch it. "Go ahead," she said with a smile to them, "You surely saw it first."

Claire had decided to wander about on her own today, one of the few and rare days of which that she wasn’t constantly by her twin’s side for once. It felt rather strange, but the young child rather enjoyed having a little distance from her sister. Perhaps it was good practice, in the small chance that the two of them would not be in the same house at Hogwarts next year. Oh, if she even went to Hogwarts. Lacking any sign of magic, she was starting to wonder if only her twin would be leaving for the school year. Now that would certainly be an uncomfortable amount of time from her twin.

These thoughts did worry her greatly, but she pushed them to the side. Her chaperone was at her side, but didn’t seem to notice Claire stopping when she saw an egg. An egg! She had heard of the wonderful rabbits that were hidden inside, and what a wonderful experience if she ended up taking one home!

Not noticing the person that her chaperone had just bumped into, she knelt down, touching the egg as the other person did. To her disappointment, it was no rabbit. Money was not something that really interested her. Mama and papa were not shy about giving things to her and Cele, so she didn’t really need to buy anything of her own. Looking up when the other girl spoke, she smiled kindly. “No, thank you. I was hoping it was a bunny.” She said. Her chaperone must have heard her voice, because the woman came right back over to her.

Emmeline continued to smile at the little girl. It was quite refreshing to encounter a young child with proper manners, especially considering she looked to be of the upper class if her clothing was any indicator. More often than not, upper class children were quite rude.

"Are you sure?" she asked, gently holding the sickle but ready to hand it to the girl if she did indeed want it, "It could certainly fetch you some delicious treats from Honeyduke's."

A friendly smile was quite nice. People were so nice. Maybe this girl would be a good sport if she would one day fall for a prank from Claire and her twin. Oh what joy would that be. But not every moment was made for pranks, and now was not the time for that. Cele would surely need to be here for such a thing.

Taking a moment to think it over, she finally shook her head. "My momma and papa will be giving me lots of sweets today. It's my birthday." She said, mentioning her birthday with pride. After a moment, she thought of something. "But would you like to help me find a bunny?" She added, excitement in her eyes.

Emmeline's smile widened at the young girl's exuberance before she pocketed the sickle. "Well happy birthday then," she said politely before looking up to the little girl's nanny as she was asked if she would help her to find a bunny.

"I think I can do that," she said as she looked back to the girl, "But only if that's alright with your chaperone." She didn't want to step on any toes, after all, though she was sincere in her willingness to help.

For such an awkward start to the day with her twin, it was turning out to be a rather nice birthday. Perhaps going home in a better mood would make the troubles in her mind go away. "Thank you." She said gleefully. Her nanny new of the bunny hunt, and had seemed quite doubtful that one would be found. If anything, it wouldn't be a surprise to mama and papa if she did come home with a bunny, or something else that would normally bring light surprise to a parent.

Looking at her nanny, she received a soft sign, then a nod. Turning back to the nice lady in front of her, she gave her own nod. "It is fine. Papa will probably find it very amusing." She stated, giggling lightly. Thinking for a moment, she looked around. "Perhaps we should go more towards the park. We will probably find more eggs the closer we get to that area." She finally said.

Youthful innocence was such an endearing thing. The excitement and happiness the little girl exuded was infectious as well, causing Emmeline to forget any of the worries she may had been considering prior to the encounter. She almost held her breath as chaperone decided if it was okay for her to help, finding she quite wanted to help the little girl to find a bunny. Perhaps it was just the distraction she needed.

She nodded simply though still smiled when she was given the okay to help the little girl who was now stating going to the park might be in their best interest. "Lead the way then," she said with a wink to the child, letting her take charge, "I'll point out any eggs I see and we'll keep our fingers crossed for a bunny."

Nice people were so nice, it was wonderful! Having help to find a little friend to bring home. Oh, perhaps she’ll even find two! One for her and one for Cele! If not, she could always share the one she found. Or she’ll find three and the nice lady could take home one. Or five and mama and papa could have their own rabbits. The possibilities were endless!

With a giggle, she was off. Heading towards the park with happiness in even her steps, she was overjoyed by the fact that she would be getting help, and having some fun with a new friend. Really excited, she wondered what they would find.

Emmeline followed the little girl with a smile, pleased she'd been able to help make her day. Clearly charity was something that helped brighten a mood. It didn't take long before they were to the park and she noticed a brightly colored egg at the base of a bush near a park bench. "I think I see one right there," she said as she pointed to the egg so the little girl could get the egg herself.

Claire was quite eager to find a bunny in an egg. The moment the nice lady pointed to one, she rushed over. Upon touching the egg however, a rabbit did not appear. Instead, egg yolk scattered all over her. After a moment of stunned silence, she started laughing. Running to find another, she continued her search without any upset to her dirty dress.

Emmeline watched the girl with a wariness just in case she was upset by the sudden yolk marring her dress. Luckily, however, she laughed which brought laughter from Emmeline's lips as well. She followed along behind her, pointing out to eggs as she saw them so that the girl could hopefully find the bunny she was hunting for.

It was all great fun. After several more yolk splatters, and plenty of other sickles, she finally found the bunny that she was looking for. Covered in yolk without a care in the world, she twirled around to face the kind lady. "Thank you so much! Cele will be so thrilled to see the bunny that I will bring home! Do you want me to help find you one?" She said joyfully. This was such great fun. Shouldn't the kind lady get a bunny as well?

The bunny was finally found and Emmeline beamed down at the little girl, especially when she asked if she could help Emmeline find a bunny of her own. She shook her head in response though. "No, I think that's quite alright," she said, still smiling, "I should probably head home. I hope you have a lovely day though." She nodded to the girl's nanny then before turning to head back on her way home.
