Did You Know?
Braces, or suspenders, were almost universally worn due to the high cut of men's trousers. Belts did not become common until the 1920s. — MJ
Had it really come to this? Passing Charles Macmillan back and forth like an upright booby prize?

Leibe,

I am sending along two gifts as a reminder that, though silent and unobtrusive, I still require your unyielding devotion. (To bolster a waning resolve as to your safety, no?)

The first is a piece I've come across in rummaging through some old relics. I would advise you share it with your musical staff and see if they can't dig up a pretty little operetta for the upcoming autumnal season to share in a lovely debut-- with a solo dance on your part, of course.

The second is the thumb of someone who bored me even after an evening of complete obedience.

Viel Glück, Schmetterling. I look forward to what your creativity brings forth.

G.P.

[The music sheets are appended to the letter and the thumb rests in a pristinely wrapped white box with satin red ribbon. Blood has crusted the bottom and the thing reeks. Best to simply chuck it before maggots develop.]

@"Sophia Voss"
