Did You Know?
Braces, or suspenders, were almost universally worn due to the high cut of men's trousers. Belts did not become common until the 1920s. — MJ
Had it really come to this? Passing Charles Macmillan back and forth like an upright booby prize?

The "They're Not Adopts But I Still Want Them" Thread

I kind of forgot the canon list was a thing and I rediscovered it today and caught plot ideas so INFLICTING THEM ON YOU ALL.

Quote:Mr. Oswald Beamish is a pureblood (born 1850). An activist, he frequently champions the rights of various non-human beings (-2). His most recent project is the rights of goblins.

Jules' unwilling BFF! I could totally see her gravitating towards him at every social event and being like "omgggg we have so much in common you're like my best friend" but also never telling him about her work so he's just like "??? who tf are you and why are you always talking to me?" And also he probably assumes she's in love with him and is being progressively less subtle about the fact that he's Not Into Her also in my dreams Beamish isn't interested because he's already in love with a goblin but she won't be with him publicly because that would allow critics to dismiss his activism as sentimentality

Quote:Mr. Adalbert Waffling is a pureblood (born 1852) who was a Ravenclaw when he attended Hogwarts school. He was recognized as a gifted student at Hogwarts and spends a large majority of his time working on his theories of magic. He has a considerable amount of money which allows him to concentrate on his experiments and hypotheses at his leisure. Ms. ----- Waffling is a pureblood (born 1859) who was considerably less fortunate than her older brother who appears to have inherited all the intellect. She is very beautiful but not ideal for an intelligent conversation. She was sorted into Hufflepuff.

So imagine Emrys starts courting Ms. Waffling because she's ostensibly dumb enough not to catch on to any of his private affairs once they're married, and then there are double dates with Anthea Selwyn who actually gets along great with Adalbert because they just discuss magical theory all day, but it's quite obvious to everyone that Emrys and Ms. Waffling do not enjoy each other's company particularly. They marry anyway, but Emrys immediately regrets it and wishes he could be rid of her, so he starts suggesting increasingly dangerous hobbies/leisure activities in the hopes that she'll accidentally die but she keeps surviving a la Lady Hyacinth in A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder and he's so mad about it.
