Chuckling, after hearing his owl was in the other room, Eva sauntered off, one last look over her shoulder at him, assuming she'd find what she needed for a quick note as well. She found Gilly readily, the beautiful barn owl snoozing on a perch. Eva had always had a soft spot for owls too, such beautiful creatures. It was a miracle she didn't have an fair few herself.
With a piece of bacon in hand, Eva found some parchment and a quill on the neat little desk in the living room. Quickly scrawling out a little white lie to her friend with a request and a couple reminders, Eva then approached Gilly gently, running her fingers slowly down the owl's wing to wake her. She was quite cooperative, allowing Eva to snuggle her briefly and tie the mail on before Eva let her out the window to deliver it. That settled, she collected her breakfast and coffee and headed back toward the bedroom, heart rate skittering up just a little as she entered.
"All set, barring any emergencies, I'm all yours, all day." She passed him a sly grin and a little chuckle as she climbed back into bed and under the covers beside him carefully. "So, what do you usually do on your days off?" Eva said before cutting into her eggs and dipping her toast into the yolk; she hadn't realized just how hungry she was herself!
