Avril wished Ace hadn't answered her not-question question with a question. Atleast he hadn't called her out on not asking to leave.

I'll start in the shops around here, and if I can't find anything for everyone around here... I'll head to Diagon Ally, if that is alright.'

Hopefully between the two places, she'd find something for everyone. If not, she'd have to come home and tell him ask him if she could head to Hogsmeade. She really didn't want to have to ask if she could go to some of the shops farther away.
