Lucky,

I have heard - you know you could have come to me in person! I never actually captained my Hogwarts team; I had the pleasure of playing alongside future quidditch professionals, so I was hardly considered myself. I can, however, leave you with some advice:
- Don't let your team-mates pressure you into changing practice times, or anything else for that matter. Instill them with a sense of discipline or you'll never win a match. If they want to really play, they will.
- Despite the above, don't be too disagreeable or they'll never want to cooperate. Nobody likes listening to a tyrant, and for many of them, quidditch is not a future career path.
- Right now, it's just a game. Have fun while you're doing it - you're not getting paid whether you win or lose. (Unless there's a quidditch sponsor or coach in the stands - then give them all you've got!)
You'll do fine at school, and if you're not, Carm will kick your ass. Pick NEWT classes that you like over ones you're merely good at, and don't convince yourself that being good at something equals liking it.
On the topic of quidditch teams, professional team loyalty as a student means nothing once you go into the pros. If the Harpies hadn't picked me to be on their teams, I definitely would have tried elsewhere. Think about it this way: if you get famous enough from playing, you might get sponsorships - and with the money from sponsorships, you could buy the Harpies!
Love,
