Emmeline's gaze shifted from his face to where he placed their hands. Her eyes seemed to widen continually as their hands were moved further up, her cheeks getting brighter as well as she tried not to pull away. It was easier said than done, that was for sure, but she managed to persevere.

Blinking, she looked to his face once again with wide eyes as he asked his question again.

"No," she said with a small gulp, willing herself to keep his gaze.
