June 26, 1888 - St Mungo's Hospital
It had started out as a very fun and casual day. Mother had decided to finally take the family out for some shopping. Nothing exciting or extravagant, but simply to get some fresh air and buy some potion supplies. The day was pleasant, with no magic stealing fog in sight. Such fog were all over the papers about Irvingly and Hogsmeade. What was it like without magic? Surely it was a new experience that was strange and special all of its own.
After a while of shopping, Hestia had been distracted by a window display while mother was busy trying to calm down a fussy baby sister. Having not noticed her family starting to get ahead of her, she continued to look around at the window display filled with toys and wonder.
Then the crashing started. Screaming and running began all around her as she tried to see the source through the crowd. There was a growl... or was that a screech? The screaming made it hard to tell. Whatever the sound was, the creature sounded quite angry. Flashes of the flying tigers came back to mind. The chaos of that event, the news after. The scar on her back felt like it was fresh and new, back from the past as the chaos of the present occurred. Lost in her memories and fear, she didn't make a move until actually seeing the beast.
Turning to run, there wasn't much time before she felt a severe pain in her back, and then felt the ground with a thud from the fall. Crying in pain, the beast didn't seem to take as much attention to her as she had thought it would. Charging after the noise of the crowd, she could feel herself starting to loose consciousness. She couldn't let that happen. What if she didn't wake up.
It was a miracle that she was found before bleeding out too badly. She couldn't even tell where she had been struck on her back. Had it been deep? Was she going to live? Time seemed to fly before she was in the hospital. Grabbing the nearest doctors arm with whatever strength she had in that moment, she tugged slightly. "Where's my mama?" She groaned. Where was her family? Were they OK? Had she lost another member of her ever shrinking family? Or was she next?
