His surprise had her chuckling as she looked over toward him fondly. It was so improper, how they had gone about this, which where Fletcher was concerned, surprised her a little bit, but she wouldn't change it. Not for anything. "It's not terribly unusual for me not to come home. I've been known to spend the night in the aviary now and then, but I do wonder what Mrs. Sweeney will think." Though if this were her home situation, that would surely come to an end quickly. Eva bit her lip, a mischievous twinkle in her eye. Then however, it was his turn to surprise her. As he nuzzled in, Eva hadn't any idea he'd already been looking at cottages for them. If she hadn't already fallen head over heels for him, she would have, and did all over again.
Making sure she kept cuddled into him, she rolled over and propped herself up on her elbows to look at him. The glimmer in her eye was altogether different now. Brushing her hair back over her shoulder, she smiled slowly. "Really?" He'd always been so sure if this, always a step ahead of her, how was she supposed to make up for lost time? If she'd known, she may have conquered some of her fears sooner. Well, at least she knew what are had to do now; attempt to get her dad on board. She knew he'd be a hard sell, and though Eva would not let his opinion dictate the outcome they'd already decided on, it would be nice if he was on board.
Leaning in to kiss him slowly, Eva kept it short, moving back just a fraction so she could look him in the eyes, "Thank you." Eva was thankful for a lot of reasons and she knew it sounded a little out of place at the moment, but she wanted him to know just how grateful she was for him.
