Welcome to Charming, where swirling petticoats, the language of flowers, and old-fashioned duels are only the beginning of what is lying underneath…
After a magical attempt on her life in 1877, Queen Victoria launched a crusade against magic that, while tidied up by the Ministry of Magic, saw the Wizarding community exiled to Hogsmeade, previously little more than a crossroad near the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the years that have passed since, Hogsmeade has suffered plagues, fires, and Victorian hypocrisy but is still standing firm.
Thethe year is now 1894. It’s time to join us and immerse yourself in scandal and drama interlaced with magic both light and dark.
I really hate writing letters, but Ma wouldn't let me go out today. She said I needed to stay at home and process what I went through and all that blabber. You were there, so I'm sure you haven't stopped thinking about MacFusty's bludger either, but I was in the box that was hit.
And before you ask: I'm fine. I really am. I was sitting right next to the girl who had her shoulder dislocated, though, and I saw the dead woman's face. I've never seen anything so horrid—not even the days-old pile of Hippogriff shit I stepped in at the beginning of third year.
How are you faring? Your dad hasn't banned you from quidditch or anything so radical, has he?

Henry,
Merlin, you were in that box? Shit, Henry, that's rough, mate.
I'm pleased to hear you are okay. It sounds like it was a very close call. While I do feel horrible about the woman who died, I must confess that I'm glad it wasn't you. Who did you attend the game with? I hope none of your siblings are too scarred.
I am alright. My father and I, thankfully, didn't have the best view of the incident. He hasn't banned me from quidditch, but I'm unsure if we will go watch the second half of the game. Gram isn't pleased with the idea in the slightest.
Are you eager to return to school? Summer is nearly over. Fancy a last hurrah before term begins?
Thomas
I'm glad it wasn't me, too. Does it make me a bad person that I don't feel an ounce of dread? You'd think that watching someone die would at least make you feel something, but I'm only eager to put the whole thing behind me. The sooner my family stops making a fuss of it the better. I couldn't tell you how my siblings are handling it, but I heard Bethany crying last night. I tried to say something, but she closed her door. I can't think of anything to say.
Maybe it's a good idea to get out. Maybe the zoo? The beach? Anything is better than nothing at this point.
