December 31, 1895 — New Years Eve Celestial Ball
Asahi had been brought along by a member of society that had been invited. He was not impressed with the United Kingdom so far. Then again, he had never been a particularly easy man to impress. Being from Japan, he obviously had no idea who most of the 'prestigious' society were nor did he really care, if he was being honest. Even so, he should mingle and get a feel for how British society conducted themselves. For the moment, it didn't seem much different than what he was used to. What were with all the mirrors though?
Asahi chose not to give them too much attention although everything he had been taught about mirrors rocked around in his head. Not so sacred to the British, he supposed. He would have to remember to note that down as a cultural difference in his findings.
"The gardens look lovely, I am looking forward to the fireworks," Asahi said to a person who had decided to engage him in conversation.
