A vampire and a werewolf walk into a bar...

Ahn-Bo Jeong
It had taken much cajoling and even a slight guilt trip to get his vampire here, but he'd somehow managed it. It helped that the Collector still hadn't realized what the club actually was—Ahn-Bo was meeting and rubbing shoulders with the wealthy members of society—they just may not have been the people that the Collector would have selected. Nearly a month had passed since they last enjoyed a 'private' moment together. Ahn-Bo was itching for the chance to take Jin-a to a place where they could enjoy themselves; this seemed like the perfect excuse to do it.

He'd apparated them from his bedroom, holding Jin-a's hand and smirking. Once inside the foyer, he released the cool fingers to straighten up his brother's appearance, brushing hair out of his golden eyes and smoothing the wrinkles that had appeared in his overcoat. His hands and eyes lingered briefly, unable to resist himself.

There were others popping into the foyer alongside them, some in solos, a few couples, and a larger group or two. The Halloween-themed event seemed to have drawn a rather large crowd. With a devious wink, he unbuttoned the top few buttons on his shirt (his skill had become much improved with practice), then smoothed his overcoat.

"Ready?" he grinned and, without waiting for a response, nudged Jin-a into the queue to the enchanted entrance of the club. If he let Jin-a ask too many questions or paused for too long, the vampire would refuse to come along. That was the thing about Jeong Seojin; he was determined to be absolutely miserable at all times. Not if Ahn-Bo had anything to say about it, however. And if that required perhaps some white lies or omissions of some minor details, then so be it.

Jin still wasn’t sure what had possessed him to agree to this little outing. He didn’t particularly enjoy being out in society on display like a pinned moth in a case. (Worse then, that he had goals and milestones to reach that hadn’t moved at all in the past month.) But when Ahn-Bo had looked at him with that face and asked so sweetly, and so insistently, his resolve had crumbled. There had never been anything Jin could really deny the handsome wolf, not when Ahn-Bo wanted it enough. And especially recently.

Things had been… different in the past month or so between them. Good different, but still… different. Ever since that afternoon by the old church, he’d found himself thinking a lot about the silly confession that he’d mumbled. Joahae, he’d said. Saranghaeyo, he’d thought. And both were still true. The simple happiness of that afternoon and the swell of emotion that had buoyed Jin through it still sung in his veins every time he gave it too much thought. He was smiling a lot more than was normal, uncontrollably so, and —where it had been difficult to say no to Ahn-Bo in the past, it was nigh impossible now. Hence how he’d ended up in the foyer of a club he had no knowledge of and the foresight not to pry into.

Regretting his own naiveté a bit, Jin looked around as Ahn-Bo released his hand. (It felt colder, always, when they weren’t touching.) But the handsome wolf didn’t go far. Instead, he fussed with Jin’s appearance, drawing golden eyes back to brown, and Jin visibly relaxed, smiling softly. How bad could this place be, really? Around them other individuals seemed to be popping into existence, so the event had to be somewhat known. And he trusted Ahn-Bo. He knew his brother wouldn’t drag him somewhere ridiculous and risk Abeoji’s wrath. (Right?) Before Jin could think too hard about it, Ahn-Bo was nudging him along.

“What’s the name of this place again?” Jin asked, stepping into the queue to wait for admission. He spoke quietly and in Joseoneo so as to not be overheard, but his tone was skeptical anyhow. This holiday was new to him and the fact that it seemed to celebrate beings that were often shunned by all societies did not, in Jin’s estimation, seem to be in good taste. He didn’t like being made fun of, and somehow, he felt like the butt of a joke he didn’t fully understand.

"The Velvet Veil," he grinned, keeping his tone lighthearted. He could already see the uncertainty and reservations in the vampire's eyes, and they hadn't even passed through the entrance at that point. Ahn-Bo wouldn't let the grim set of Jin-a's mouth make his intentions waver. Once he was able to convince him to let go and enjoy himself, he would be pleased he'd been brought here. Besides, the werewolf had been here multiple times, and the Collector still hadn't caught on to what the club really was. Once Ahn-Bo had explained the truly powerful were the ones in the member wing, he had even agreed to open a line of credit—paired with plenty of threats and consequences if he was foolish.

It was their turn to enter, and they did so easily since neither had been using any enchantments or disguises (not yet, anyway.) He placed his hand to the small of Jin-a's back and guided his slender frame through the narrow halls, passing by other patrons with a polite nod. None bothered to speak. Everyone was here for a reason, and it was that reason that drove their activities whilst here. Typically, the werewolf spent his time either in the main club or the public areas of the member's wing. Jin-a would get the full experience he deserved, however. There was already a plan to explain away the extra expenses by claiming he'd entertained some pureblood upper-class people—perhaps dropping a few women's names to appear as if he was diligently trying to find a wife.

"It's just a little further," he stepped closer to murmur into the vampire's ear. The door to the member's wing was staffed by a woman so large that the top of her head brushed the ceiling. Ahn-Bo put their membership fees on credit, and then he intertwined his fingers with Jin-a's and pulled him through into a room of pure opulence. It was dark and moody, with scattered candles providing just enough light to navigate the room effectively. He deliberately avoided the vampire's gaze, fully expecting a protest to burst out of him at any minute.

They passed by several darkened alcoves before Ahn-Bo dipped into the one furthest from prying eyes, tugging Jin-a inside with him. It was then that his brother began the protest that he'd known was coming (and chose to ignore.) "I've been waiting for so long to do this." Faster than he would know what was happening, he set his hands on his vampire's shoulders, pushed him up against the back wall, and kissed him.

The name of the place did absolutely nothing to appease Jin’s wildest concerns. The Velvet Veil. It sounded sultry and obscure; the exact opposite of everything the British upper classes pretended to uphold. Jin wasn’t stupid. He knew if this was a place Ahn-Bo liked, and frequented often, that it couldn’t be entirely of pristine repute. And maybe he hadn’t expected it to be. (While Jin adored the handsome wolf, it wasn’t blindly. He knew of Ahn-Bo’s preferences and inclinations. They’d been attached at the hip too long for him not to.) But as he was shuffled through the entrance and only just managed to catch the briefest of glimpses of the place as he was hustled, Jin felt the pit in his stomach knot further.

The room they finally seemed to hedge towards was dimly lit. Behind the literal giant of a woman that blocked its entrance, Jin marveled at the opulence of such a room. He’d been in enough ballrooms and estate homes by now to wonder that so much wealth could exist in the world and guarded by such few, but this was something else entirely. He was distracted enough to keep his protests quiet, and also unwilling to attract particular attention as Ahn-Bo took his hand and his cheeks heated. (This was going to be a problem. Jin was way too obvious in his affections for the handsome wolf to manage in public.) But his clamming up only lasted until they reached a private little alcove into which he was tugged.

The heavy red curtain that was draped over the entrance (for privacy, he assumed) felt dusty as Jin brushed past it. He opened his mouth as he was released, ready to try and convince Ahn-Bo this was exactly the opposite of anything that would help them meet the Menagerie’s goals, when he felt the other press closer. Almost as if on instinct, Jin’s pupils dilated and he fell quiet as he was backed into the wall. Ahn-Bo’s intention was crystal clear and Jin’s heart fluttered in his chest against his better judgement. “Ahn-Bo-ah—” he tried to warn quietly, but the other was already kissing him and Jin swallowed all the rest of his words, and his concerns, down for a later time.

He too had been waiting so long for them to find another quiet moment amidst the hustle of an overcrowded house. One would think with an estate the size of a palace that surly there would be un-used wings and rooms far enough out of hearing range that one might steal some peace. But British estates were less spread out than those back home; rooms and floors were stacked on top of one another and it was easy to hear everything, especially when one had heightened senses. Add to that five brothers, a father they all tip-toed around, and the comings and goings of whatever else might be going on at the time and well— there was a reason Jin preferred to stay without. (Too bad the stupid sun had been searing hot and unusual, like a jailor, these past weeks.)

He’d relaxed into Ahn-Bo’s touch almost as if he was coming home. For a split second, there was nothing else in the world that mattered except for the feel and smell and taste of Ahn-Bo on him. But when the other suddenly pulled away to breath, Jin felt the cold reality of life wash back over him. One hand came up to press gently against his brother’s chest, nudging him away, as Jin turned his head to the side. “I’m supposed to be your hyeong,” he breathed, cheeks pink and voice full of regret. There was nothing more that Jin wanted in the world than to continue but— they were in public, for spirits sake!

(The fact of the matter that he was older, and being presented as the eldest now, was not lost on Jin. Even though they all called Ahn-Bo hyeong, and it was more natural than breathing air, the truth remained. It certainly added to the color in his cheeks however and the evasiveness of his expression.)

The protest that he'd expected had finally surfaced, though it had been watered down significantly by their kiss. It hadn't been the reason he'd kissed Jin-a (frankly, he didn't even need a reason for it), but it was a nice side effect nonetheless.

He allowed himself to be pushed away, taking a step back solely for the vampire's comfort. Had he been purely human, his eyes wouldn't have been able to pick up on the endearing blush that covered his brother's cheeks in the darkness. This was the one and only time he'd ever felt grateful for his condition. The thought made his stomach twist uncomfortably. His ability to shove the unpleasant sensation away was well trained, and this feeling was definitely that. It was gone in the next second, the wicked grin on his face never fading.

"It's dark, and no one can see," he reasoned softly, though he knew that wouldn't be enough assurance for Jin-a. Ahn-Bo fought the urge to close what little distance there was between them again, to reach out and stroke Jin-a's cheek soothingly. "They offer disguise enchantments here—would that make you more comfortable?" The last was meant to be said nonchalantly, as if it didn't bother him either way. But the very end had curled up towards hopeful. He didn't want Jin-a here simply to humor him. He wanted him here so that they could have fun together. The disguise services were thus far untested for Ahn-Bo, though considering how high-quality everything else he'd experienced was, he figured this would be just the same.

Personally, he would have preferred to be able to continue looking like themselves... but at least he wouldn't feel guilty kissing someone else when it was really Jin-a beneath. Though if that was what it took this evening, then so be it. "Or, they have private rooms available, though we'd miss the show they've planned." Ahn-Bo had heard there was a wide variety of entertainment for the evening—four different performances, even. His hungry gaze met his brother's. Now that he thought about it, missing the show sounded exactly like something he wanted to do.

Jin wasn’t sure what his little attempt to put distance between them did to Ahn-Bo’s face and frankly, he was glad. He hated disappointing the other even when it was strictly necessary (like now) but he recovered as his brother took a step back. Cold wafted into the space he'd just been occupying, but that wasn’t new. Jin made a skeptical face at Ahn-Bo’s comment in the dark. “I can see,” he protested, weakly. It was an unfair assessment, maybe, but the same as he could see there were probably definitely others like him that could see. Partial (or full) beings notwithstanding. And anything with a mouth and tongue with the ability to communicate posed a threat. (At the thought, Jin felt his defenses rise even further, putting him more on edge. He wouldn’t let anyone dare pose his brothers a threat; especially if he could help it.) At mention of disguises, Jin’s head tilted slightly.

His first thought was polyjuice, like the one Taesu-ah used when he went out for his nightly visits. Jin had never been under the effect of polyjuice so he couldn’t imagine how different it must feel. And while he liked the idea of being able to breathe more freely alongside Ahn-Bo and relax enough to maybe even be himself— he doubted he could manage that. But, well, it was certainly a solution. The next suggestion was one that Jin felt as warmly under the collar as his brother intended. He liked that idea the most, but then Ahn-Bo would miss the festivities he was so excited about. Jin released a small breath and shook his head. “I don’t know how I let you convince me into these things,” he muttered, teasingly.

“I think… any of those options could work,” he replied, lacing his hands behind his back and leaning up against the wall shyly. “You chose.” All that mattered was that they weren’t recognized— or at least, that he wasn’t, if Ahn-Bo was already a frequent patron. Jin couldn’t imagine what would happen if Abeoji caught wind that they were here together and… together. (Or anyone else for that matter, spirits!)

"Because I'm handsome as hell?" he offered with a laugh. Some days, Jin-a was relatively easygoing. He'd go along with Ahn-Bo's antics, and it reminded him of their younger years, before... well, before. Other days, he was broody and cranky, and there was no cracking him. Today had been the former, thankfully. He crossed his arms over his chest in amusement as he watched Jin-a consider the options he'd suggested. There were other options that he hadn't brought up yet as well—plenty of things they could do that were relatively private. Given the option to choose, however... Ahn-Bo preferred the vampire stay himself for the time being—he wanted to be able to remember the full expressions on his brother's face as he experienced the club for the first time.

Now it was his turn to take a moment to consider his options. It took him a bit longer than it would have, distracted by how adorably shy Jin-a was being. But then, he decided. "We'll compromise," he uncrossed his arms, "When we're alone, it'll be just us. And when we're not alone, you'll be my hyueng." Maybe one day, they'd be able to simply be themselves at all times. For now, they were still puppets in the Collector's show and had rules they needed to follow. It was uncharacteristic of Ahn-Bo to even consider the future. He liked to live in the moment and deal with consequences later. Ever since that one evening out by the ruins, he found himself contemplating it more and more.

Jin rolled his eyes good-naturedly at his brother’s somewhat predictable response. “Looks are irrelevant,” he huffed. “If I gave in to every handsome man that asked me anything, I’d never get anything done.” In fact, he’d probably never even manage to leave the house given how handsome all his brothers were. But that didn’t seem relevant to add. “It’s just you,” he insisted instead. “Spirits help me.” But Jin wasn’t actually upset or nonplussed the more he thought about it. While the atmosphere wasn’t as above-bar as he’d have hoped, they were still here. And with the option for disguises and precautions, maybe he could find a way to enjoy himself. For Ahn-Bo’s sake.

It had been a long time since Jin had reasonably enjoyed anything. He didn’t fly anymore - though that little blip at the quidditch pitches had made him think he should pick it up again - and he didn’t really sing for himself either. His two loves had been cast aside, the former forgotten after Ahn-Bo’s— their shared past, and the latter had been tainted by Abeoji’s greedy whims. Jin’s voice wasn’t even really his own anymore. Tonight could be different. And hadn’t different been working out for them, as of late?

With a slightly still cautious nod, Jin agreed to Ahn-Bo’s compromise. It didn’t sound like there was that much distinction between the two, or at least not as much as he might have liked, but he didn’t protest. He had to trust Ahn-Bo to know the difference. That’s what relationships were comprised of, right? Jin peeled himself off the wall and stepped closer, bumping into Ahn-Bo gently. “Ne,” he agreed, voice soft.

It was ridiculous that he was so elated every time his brother told him he was different than the others—whether it be another man or the rest of their unhappy little family. It wasn't a surprise. He'd known this for nearly as long as they'd known each other, but that still didn't make it any less potent every time he heard it. And if he happened to rock up on his toes in his excitement ever so slightly, then that was his own business. As was the wide grin that had spread across his face upon Jin-a's agreement. Their proximity reminded him that they were presently alone in a dark alcove... though the vampire was already on edge. Now wasn't the time to push it. So instead, he nodded and accepted the nudge as reassurance that Jin-a was still in.

"Then hyeung," he brushed aside the curtain, "The first thing we need to do is order drinks." Ahn-Bo took several paces back so that once the vampire joined him in the hall, they wouldn't be seen as standing too closely. The first act was on stage already, just about to begin their performance. The music had begun to swell, and based on the giant ostrich feathers he saw, there was a good chance this may be a magical flavor of burlesque.

There were very few tables that weren't already taken. Thankfully, there was a suitably cozy booth near the back. It would likely make Jin-a more comfortable if he could see that no one was paying them any heed, rather than suspecting they were peering at him from behind. Just as they slipped into the booth, a graceful witch stepped up to their table to ask if they needed anything. Ahn-Bo took a moment to look over the event's specialized menu—and then a laugh burst out of him that did have several heads turning their way. He cleared his throat and apologized politely to the witch. A knowing grin was flashed at Jin-a as he placed his order: "I'll have the team vampire this evening."

A mirrored smile had found itself onto Jin’s face as he watched Ahn-Bo bounce on his toes. He too liked to do things sometimes that pulled endearing reactions from his brother. But where sometimes Ahn-Bo was overt about it, Jin liked to be more subtle. The reward was just as great.

He followed obediently as Ahn-Bo led them out into the main hall. The distance between them was appropriate and Jin was grateful for it. He resisted the urge to shove his hands into his trouser pockets the way he’d seen some gentlemen do; it looked ridiculous but it seemed like a comfortable, fidgety thing to do. Instead, he gave Ahn-Bo a weary look as he mentioned drinks.

Jin still hadn’t mastered the art of English alcohol and it had, embarrassingly, been taking up a great deal of his time and stress as of late. The names were as unfamiliar to him as the tastes, but most importantly he didn’t like that he couldn’t gauge their potency on the uptake. They were always mixed in and out with all sorts of things! He didn’t fancy the idea of getting piss drunk without knowing it and risking an embarrassment to himself or their family. And, well. It was a matter of pride too. Jin wasn’t historically very good with his alcohol, hmph.

The table his brother selected was albeit a comfortable one tucked in near the back. Jin appreciated the fact they he wouldn’t feel stared at and that they were nice and far away from… whatever was happening on stage. His cheeks pinkened as he slipped into his seat and watched as a scantily clad woman began to shimmy. He’d even opened his mouth to comment when suddenly another woman appeared by their side. Blinking twice, Jin was quiet as Ahn-Bo facilitated the exchange. He didn’t know what was on the paper they’d been handed and he was only just studying it when his brother’s sharp laugh made him jump.

Jin frowned at Ahn-Bo and gave him an elbow to the side as he returned to perusing the list he’d realized must be of drinks. This was a handy little tool. He only wished all the events and balls they attended had similar instructions. Maybe then he could memorize some of the names. These looked suspiciously made up however and Jin deliberated, wrinkling his nose. They all sounded like a small nightmare. He could feel his brother’s gaze on him though and that of the woman waiting for his answer. In the end, he hastily pointed at the werewolf drink. “This one, please,” he chirped, tasting the English syllables on his tongue. "The werewolf." There was no way on this side of jeoseung that he was going to drink anything deemed vampiric. At least not until he’d settled in.

(And besides. He'd had plenty of werewolf in his time. How dirty could this one do him?)

Ahn-Bo bit his lower lip to keep from laughing as his brother perused the menu. He hadn't anticipated themed drinks, though it made sense given the theme. In reality, there could be actual blood in whatever he'd just ordered, and he wouldn't have known. Once he'd seen the drink named for Jin-a, his decision had been made. Descriptions be damned. His brother suitably selected 'the werewolf.' Ahn-Bo choked on his laugh as the witch waved a hand toward the bar and levitated their drinks to the table. Then, she was off to serve the next table.

The vampire drink was rather obvious, red in color, and supposed to resemble blood. His heightened senses caught a whiff of cherry and rum; no trace of blood was present. If there had been, he may have tried to convince Jin-a to trade so the actual (half) vampire could enjoy it. The werewolf drink was less straightforward. Though he supposed no one would want to have a drink full of beast hair. It was yellow beneath the crystal chandeliers, though if he turned just so, it shifted to blue. Interesting.

"Jjan," He lifted his glass to clink against his brother's before taking a long sip. It tasted exactly as it had smelled. Cherry wouldn't have been his first choice, but it went down smoothly enough. He took another sip before turning to his brother, "Well? What does werewolf taste like?" If they had been alone, he would have said: 'Well, does it taste like me?' and it would have caused a furious flush in Jin-a's cheeks.

The drinks still seemed in bad taste, as Jin mulled over them. And this whole holiday too. What kind of strange ingredients was a drink aimed at vampires comprised of that could possibly be palatable for humans? Or safe? He didn’t think blood was an easy commodity to come by either, not that Jin had ever tried to inquire. Anywhere. (He didn’t know where the blood that Abeoji always had for him came from and he hadn’t dared to ask. All he knew was that it certainly wasn’t any of his brothers, and for that he’d been grateful enough.) They came faster than he’d anticipated though, hovered directly from the bar, and Jin eyed Ahn-Bo’s before his own. It smelled sweet— like cherries.

Turning to his (other) werewolf, Jin gave the drink a little swirl. It looked pretty tame compared to the bright red of Ahn-Bo’s. After giving a little clink, he lifted it to take a sip and it was sweet first then sour on his tongue. It was an unusual flavor he couldn’t place. Wrinkling his nose and then taking another sip, Jin settled in. He gave his brother an amused expression, knowing full well what the real question had been, but he ignored it for the moment. “It’s strange,” Jin said instead. “Sweet and light and then quite… sikeumhan after the fact.” His face changed then and Jin gave a teasing smile. “It’s not like anything I’ve tasted before,” he said, pointedly.

For a moment, Jin almost returned the question but he wasn’t sure he wanted to know what ‘vampire’ was supposed to taste like. Instead, he nodded towards the stage. The scantily clad woman from before had been joined by another, this one with an obvious show of ears. (If he’d been scandalized before, now Jin wasn’t sure what he thought.) “What do you make is supposed to be happening there?” he asked, cheeks already furiously pink as he turned to look back at his drink. It wasn’t safe to watch. Surely it went against any kind of propriety he’d ever been taught.

He'd had to hide his smug grin with another sip of his drink, tempted to burst out laughing once more. It would have been in poor taste. The show was truly underway, and it would appear to everyone that he was laughing at the women on stage.

The flavors of cherry and rum swirled in his mouth; he swallowed the laugh along with them. At his brother's reaction to the stage performance, it dawned on him then that they hadn't been out like this as adults. Ever. He had never seen how Jin-a interacted with the more risque side of society—though he could have taken an educated guess based solely on their own interactions. They were opposites in many ways, including this. Jeong Seojin was conservative, while Jeong Ahn-Bo was more open-minded.

Ahn-Bo took a moment to observe the performance. It was certainly a unique version of a burlesque show—the women had dressed (if one could call it that) according to the theme. It was sensual, he supposed, if one was into things like this. It didn't do much for him personally... though if his vampire were up on stage he might have felt differently.

As if he were merely commenting on the weather, he replied: "I believe the one on the left is an interpretation of a spirit, while the one on the right is..." He paused for a moment, knitting his brow. What were the creatures called again? They'd seen a few on staff here and there–"an elf." That didn't feel quite right, but it was the closest he was going to get.

He nudged Jin-a's side teasingly. "What do you make of it, hyeung?" The vampire's blush was nearly as bright as the drink named for him.

If he hadn’t been quite so focused on being mortified, Jin might have noticed the look of amusement that flickered over Ahn-Bo’s face and stuck his tongue out respectively. Instead, it was all he could do to take another long sip of his drink. It was cold as it went down, prompting him to want to move closer to the veritable sun next to him, but Jin did no such thing. He would heat up from the inside soon enough. He was quick to sport a soft glow after the first few sips usually.

At his brother’s return comment, Jin did huff a small laugh that he couldn’t help and glanced up, eyes glowing in amusement. “An elf?” he repeated. There was no way. He snuck another glance at the stage, focusing his attention strictly on the woman’s costume (what little of it there was), and spotted a tail behind her too. She was definitely supposed to be a wolf or some kind of dog. At Ahn-Bo’s subsequent nudge and teasing quip, Jin felt his cheeks warm— and not yet from the alcohol.

If he was honest, Jin didn’t really make anything of it. In fact, it made him vaguely uncomfortable. It wasn’t that he wasn’t attracted to the women on the stage; he could say, objectively, that they were pretty and well suited to their erm, chosen paths. But it took more than a pretty face for him to jump and salivate the way this show seemed to expect. And there had only ever been one girl Jin actually liked, or thought of in that way, not that he’d ever dared to say anything to her. He took another long sip.

“I think… they’re very talented young ladies,” was all he could come up with. It would have been very different if it had been Ahn-Bo up there, but they both knew that.

Taking the moment to look around, Jin noted that everyone in the room seemed to be enjoying themselves. Not everyone was engrossed in the performance; some groups were chatting away while one table was very obviously not chatting. Jin blinked and then looked away. Oh. Well, that was allowed too he supposed. Across from them there was a table of gentleman that looked like they were having a grand old time just poking fun and Jin felt himself relax. Maybe it was the drink or maybe it was reality finally sinking in that he was here and nothing had happened and everything was going to be fine. But either way, he felt another urge to take a big sip and then turned to Ahn-Bo with a pleased little grin.

“Ahn-Bo-ah,” he chirped, softly. “Gomawo, for sharing your place with me.”

* Jin takes potions and enchantments at times to give his voice a persuasive quality.
His performances, or even a simple conversation, can sometimes suggest thoughts
and ideas to his audiences.

His own drink was nearly gone and his brother's was well underway. Still, he didn't think he had started feeling the effects just yet. The solution to that was easy enough. He'd just have to order another.

This time, he couldn't keep his snicker in. He'd expected some sort of prim observation from his brother, but the way he had stated it was reminiscent of an eighty-year-old ajumeoni. It was poor timing on his own part. He shouldn't have been taking a drink, knowing Jin-a would make him laugh. The vampire was oblivious for the split-second it took for Ahn-Bo to react. His appreciation was sincere, and Ahn-Bo hoarded it away in his proverbial pile of treasures. They were mostly of Jin-a's smiles and blushes, but he said nice things too.

Though at the moment, he was coughing, sputtering, and laughing all at once. It was distracting enough that the not elf (she had a tail, apparently, and he supposed was meant to be a werewolf) leveled him with a look. He waved an apologetic hand and ducked his head. "Let's try another room. You're going to get us kicked out." His playful accusation was a loud whisper. "And we've barely even started." It would take a lot more than that to get kicked out, but he did feel a little guilty that he was disrupting the 'very talented young ladies' on stage.

Jin wasn’t sure what he’d said but all of a sudden Ahn-Bo erupted into a cacophony of different sounds all at once. He leveled the wolf a skeptical look and made to pat him heartily on the back. Maybe he was choking. “Gwenchana?” Jin asked teasingly. He didn’t notice the dancer on the stage giving them a look until Ahn-Bo apologized and then, self-consciously, he made a little bow with his head too.

The wolf’s loud whisper made Jin frown but he couldn’t help but agree. They’d been kicked out of places before because they couldn’t behave themselves, namely the library at school, and he couldn’t even blame it all on Ahn-Bo because Jin certainly played his part too. Not wishing for a repeat experience and certainly in an attempt to draw less attention to themselves, he finished the last of his drink and ducked quickly out of the booth. Jin didn’t know which way to turn other than his back towards the stage. He waited for Ahn-Bo to squeeze out after him and then began to wander in a direction. He knew if it was the wrong one his brother would correct him. He’d been here before after all.
