But Roslyn Ross had had to sacrifice, too. She had had to give up a piece of her husband for the greater good, or whatever it was people said, and she had done so. Resented it, but done so, for she was not a perfect wife but she was a good wife, and it was what her husband had needed of her. She had not let him see it, but Ros had cried for happiness when he had left the post.
Justin Ross was not Minister of Magic now. Whatever crisis was unfolding, she would not let him place the work over family, not now. And so, anxiety tying a knot in her heart, Ros penned a brief note she would never have troubled him with in previous crises.
