Cadogan enjoyed astronomy, if only because it was a general time where people either weren’t around, or they were quiet if they were. Tonight he’d slipped away from the house and found a quiet place in the grass to stare up at the vast night sky, his eyes searching for the outline of Canis Major, the Dog Star Sirius. He wasn’t the best at finding their outlines, but professor Lyra had asked for them to complete it prior to the first term beginning, so he was going to try his best. He'd been putting it off all summer, but now that time was starting to creep up on him, Cad figured he'd get it done before it completely slipped his mind.

The stars seemed to pulse, and he let out a small breath of relief as he finally managed to find Sirius… or erm, what he thought was the constellation? Just as the professor asked, Cad did his best to sketch the constellation as he sat up, crossing his legs in the process so he had somewhere to rest the parchment, pressing the quill into the paper to enunciate the placement of the stars. It looked like a bunch of scribbles to him, but at least he was trying.
