Tony here is one of the incoming firsties for 1893!

He found out about the wizarding world just this month and this turned his world upside down. He was sent to live with a widowed, childless aunt and her "best friend" because his parents are convinced he's lowkey satanic now.

Tony is burying the unpleasant feelings of being unwanted by his family by being suuuper excited and curious about the wizarding world. He loved learning all the newest scientific things and he views the magical world through a similar lens.

I'm excited for him to meet fellow first years and students in general.

Of course, I want him to learn about what it is to be a muggleborn in an unpleasant way, so purist students, come at him!

The most convenient would be the firstie boats, or Hogwarts, but Tony is also going to do school shopping along with the Valenduris children, so maybe then as well!

Hyacinth Valenduris is my incoming first year! She's not a purist, mostly because she doesn't understand it, but her older sister is. She's rather sweet though so maybe she'll be friends with Tony!

He won't have him as a Professor unless he takes his class in third year, but I wanted to also draw your attention to Thomas Pembroke, the Muggle Studies Professor. He used to work in the Ministry as a Muggle Liaison and even though he teaches now, he goes out of his way to mentor muggleborn students and help them communicate with their families if needed. He went into the career he did because he was also a muggleborn student with a religious upbringing and dealt with purists. If Tony ever wants to speak with someone outside of Professor Valenduris, Thomas is always available.

Yess Hyacinth! They will get to meet during the Valenduris shopping trip as he's tagging along with his aunt. We could even thread them separately cause it'll be a big trip with many kids and stops, so they'd get all to talk among themselves.

Thomas is the perfect mentor of sorts for Tony, for sure! With him being the Muggle Studies professor and muggleborn himself, I can see how Tony would be told about him. I definitely want Tony to have an unpleasant introduction to blood purity, so maybe Thomas could explain to him afterwards?

Definitely! Thomas would be happy (?) to have that conversation with him, just as his professor had to have one with him in his first year. Poor Tony. Just let me know when would be the best time for that - whenever that situation happens in your timeline ^_^
