Welcome to Charming, where swirling petticoats, the language of flowers, and old-fashioned duels are only the beginning of what is lying underneath…
After a magical attempt on her life in 1877, Queen Victoria launched a crusade against magic that, while tidied up by the Ministry of Magic, saw the Wizarding community exiled to Hogsmeade, previously little more than a crossroad near the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the years that have passed since, Hogsmeade has suffered plagues, fires, and Victorian hypocrisy but is still standing firm.
Thethe year is now 1894. It’s time to join us and immerse yourself in scandal and drama interlaced with magic both light and dark.
Your father shared your wonderful news with me. I suspected you would find yourself in Gryffindor, just as your father. I am so proud of you and look forward to hearing of all your adventures. News has reached us of dragons on Hogwarts grounds. I know how you must wish to tame one of your own, but you must be cautious and obey the Headmaster's rules. I promise you, a dragon's bite is nothing to wish for. Tell me of your classes. What have you enjoyed so far? Is your wand behaving?
Sorry I didn't write back sooner. They only just finished clearing up the dragons today! I’m so glad to hear you thought I would be placed into Gryffindor as well! It’s all I’ve wanted these past few months while I awaited for the school year to start and to finally hear that old hat call it out felt like a dream come true. I’m just so glad to know the hat saw the same things in me as it did my Papa!
I promise not to try and tame any of the dragons. No matter how adorable they are from the view out my window. Toast seems to like them too because whenever they get close to the windowsill he paws at the glass furiously, so even if I tried to tame one I fear he may try to harm it. A shame really. My friends and I actually outfitted our friend Max’s owl with makeshift armor the other day so he could write to his father. We had to sneak a bunch of dinnerwares out of the Great Hall for it, but it actually turned out quite good! Did you know sugar bowls make great owl helmets? I was surprised too!
My classes have been great! They’re all pretty fun except for History of Magic which is by far the most boring thing I’ve ever had to sit through in my life. If I had to pick I think Herbology might be my favorite since we get to go outside into the greenhouses! The professor is very nice too.
So far my wand has been nothing short of amazing, but I am hardly surprised considering it comes from my Papa! It’s no doubt better than the wandshops wands. Did he tell you he also got me a broom?? I can’t wait till we have our first flying lessons so I can try it out! He even told me I can try out for the house quidditch team when the time comes!
