Did You Know?
Braces, or suspenders, were almost universally worn due to the high cut of men's trousers. Belts did not become common until the 1920s. — MJ

August 13th, 1895 — Padmore Park, Near the Lake

Go out and get some fresh air. Ugh.

So here he was, reluctantly strolling through Padmore Park and looking at the...nature. Gross.

Leo ran a hand over a low wall next to the lake and cringed at the grime he picked up. The boy rubbed his fingers together and flicked them dismissively as if that would somehow dispel the germs. As he continued walking, his boot nudged into something squishy that let out a low 'mew' in response. Glancing down, Leo scowled.

A kitten? Of course.

He shot the creature a scathing look as if it singlehandedly had ruined his entire day. The boy looked as if he were about to just side step it and prowl on, but the slightest tick of a smirk grew on his face. Glancing this way and that to be sure nobody was watching, he gingerly picked up the cat, lifting the feline up to his eye level. After a very long, expressionless stare, Leo abruptly tossed the kitten into the lake with a small splash.

"Oops."

Looking around again, his expression abruptly changed to one of pure, sincere panic. The closest person was a ways off and not looking in his direction. Time to turn up the volume.

With an incredibly high pitched panic scream that only a pre-pubescent child could summon, Leo screeched out, "HELP! SOMEBODY! HELP!" The person turned and began to head in his direction.

Excellent.

After spending more than a week in hospital Antelope was happy to feel the breeze on her skin, even if was still tender in places and the creams she had been given were doing nothing to alleviate the worry about scarring on her neck and arm.

She was still feeling sorry for herself and her parents had been furious with her once they had realised she wasn't going to die. She glanced up and saw a little boy playing in the distance, not doing anything but just there in her path a little way away. Her eyes turned back to her feet as she kicked another stone along in front of her. She was absent mindely kicking when she heard the shriek. The teenager turned her head and in the absence of anyone else, made haste to help. "What's wrong?" she called out, only barely registering the spashing something in the lake. It was the dark lake of course, it could be a fish, a kelpie, even a squid. "Are you ok?"

"THE CAT!!" He screeched. His voice still had that awkward high pitched shrill to it, and he added in a little extra panic that made it crackle at the end. With a dramatic flourish, he pointed at the lake where the little thing thrashed about in the water.

Leo willed some tears to start prickling at the corners of his eyes. Really, if he had been the normal sort of boy, acting might have been a viable career option. Alas, his tastes were darker. As the moisture accumulated, his trembling voice picked up speed, "Iwaswalkingandthewallandthecatandthe...the..." He stared at the girl, eyes wide. "And then SPLASH! I-I heard it! And then...I think it fell!"

He shuffled quickly to the edge of the water and then backwards, "But I can't swim!!" He absolutely could.

A bit of a hiccupping noise could be heard, as if he were holding back a sob. "Help," he pleaded, pathetically.

She looked horrified, how could a cat just "fall in" far out into the lake. "It's going to die! The squid!" her face contorted involuntarily as she panicked and drew out her wand. If she had time to think, she would have been happy she could justify this breach of her age and after all, it was Hogsmeade, the trace would have no idea it was her. Except she didnt have time to consider all of that just followed her cat lover's instinct. "Wingardum Levicorpus" the cat rose out of the water just as a tentacles tried to reach and grab it. The dripping moggy was mewing as it moved across the water.

"Take off your jacket, we need to warm it up." she said to the young boy as the cat got closer to shore.
