Did You Know?
Braces, or suspenders, were almost universally worn due to the high cut of men's trousers. Belts did not become common until the 1920s. — MJ
Had it really come to this? Passing Charles Macmillan back and forth like an upright booby prize?

Trapped! Like a Rat!

July 26th, 1895 - Hogsmeade Hospital

With all of this uproar about werewolves, Tabi rather felt like she too was being scrutinized and so therefore she was trying to lay low too. No real social events, no long walks to work, just back and forth quickly, fortunately often with Mr. Wye in tow. It was a strange sort of routine they had, but Tabi honestly didn't mind. It was amusing, if nothing else, letting him prattle on about whatever it was he was interested in at the moment. Plus, nobody really bothered her when she had a transparent chaperon.

Today had been equally uneventful and Tabi rather thought that they were due for something to happen. Her ward was typically a trickle of people here and there, rarely anything truly emergent (which was good), but it had been a few shifts without anything big. In the meantime she'd been prepping and stocking potions not only in her ward, but in others as well. Currently she was in Artifacts, trying to rearrange a little and put in the things that she'd brought. She was humming quietly to herself, the cart she'd brought up just outside the storeroom while she tried to keep track of the things she was doing. Normally she wasn't so scatterbrained, but the state of things lately had her a little frazzled.

Which was why when the door closed behind her, it took her a solid five minutes to realize. It wasn't until she turned around to get her wand and her notebook that she realized it was shut. And apparently locked. She tried the handle a few times, pushing hard, maybe just assuming it was hard to open, or maybe jammed, but it didn't budge. Without her wand (also on the cart, rookie mistake) she wasn't sure what to do.

Somebody had to come by soon, right? Tabs gave it ten more minutes, before she started to pound on the door itself. The cart had to be a giveaway and surely somebody would need something from in here. "Is anyone out there! I seem to have gotten locked in!" Tabi called, unsure if there was even anyone around to hear her.

Gideon Browne could count on one hand the number of times he had punched another man—and that hand was currently in possession of purpling bruise across his knuckles.

Anyone could be a werewolf—perhaps that's the reason Miss Browne isn't married yet?" He had never considered the other fellow, a healer at Mungo's, to be anything more than a mild bother before, a man too big for his britches and, reportedly, rather a lazy healer. Still, Gideon had long since learned to endure him, but as conversation at the Skull & Scalpel had turned to current events, one thing had led to another, and the healer's well of patience ran dry. And blew up.

Fortunately, Phil had been there to get him away before matters could get any worse, but as Gideon returned to Hogsmeade, he decided to stop by the hospital for a bruise salve before he returned home to the scrutiny of his mother and sisters. It was quiet, as the wizard moved through the hospital—better for him, Gideon decided, as he traced his usual path to the artefact incidents ward. With any luck, he would be in and out without running into anyone who might ask questions, and he could wake up tomorrow pretending none of this had ever happened.

There was a cart in front of the door.

The door that was shaking to the beat of muffled pounding.

Now, the hospital was no stranger to unsual occurances, but Gideon Browne had never once seen a door develop sentience. Thus, when the muffled shout of Is anyone out there? reached the wizard's ears, he reached the much more reasonable conclusion that someone was trapped inside.

"I am here!" he answered, knuckles of his un-bruised hand rapping once upon the door in answer.

It had taken a few minutes of her continued pounding on the door, but finally she heard someone. Tabitha had never been so relieved as to hear the muffled voice of one of her colleagues. Her hand was aching now and she rested it against the wood of the door, fingers shaking a little. "My wand is on the cart and the door is certainly locked!" Tabi was not normally one to shout, but the door was thick and she was a little panicked. She was not a huge fan of small spaces and she wanted to be out of here as soon as possible.

"Please get me out of here," it wasn't desperate, but Tabi was not quite so composed as she normally was. She didn't want to make anyone else panic, but this was not something she wanted to prolong if at all possible.
