Did You Know?
One of the cheapest homeless shelters in Victorian London charged four pennies to sleep in a coffin. Which was... still better than sleeping upright against a rope? — Jordan / Lynn
If he was being completely honest, the situation didn't look good, but Sylvano was not in the habit of being completely honest about anything. No reason to start now.

Which rep do you use for invitations?

Hey! When it comes to people who would be invited to balls/parties/etc together, which reputation do you use to decide if they meet the requirements to attend a given event?

For example, Ford's reputation is 7 but his wife's is 5. Inviting only one of them would be a major social faux pas or a very intentional snub. If an event says Rep 7+ would you assume they get an invite or not?

Other examples where the reputation might be different but the invitation wouldn't be are mother/daughters or guardian/ward. I admit I was initially wondering this for Johanna Applegate/Mama Applegate reasons but then checked and realized Hanna's reputation is actually fine and I don't know why I assumed it was bad

Do you go with whoever the "primary" name on the invite is? (husband over wife, mother over daughter, guardian over ward?) or whichever reputation is lower? or what?

Related/unrelated but people should make more events for mid-rep characters to attend, Don Juan hasn't had an event he's eligible for in months. Sad

I'd think it would be a case-by-case basis. Definitely changing from household to household on both ends. But I may be mistaken?

"Case by case basis" does not help me unless everyone is going to include a footnote in their events moving forward specifying whether I'm invited or not xD

What I mean is, you'd probably have to Direct Message or Private Message the player directly with a certain event, because each host/hostess is different, as is each reason that a person that has a specific reputation. But I'd love to hear staff or other opinions to be sure.

This is actually a really good question! I think it likely depends on the nature of the event and the class (actual or perceived) of the hosts and attendees. Also sexism. Which I know is not the nice, clear-cut answer you want :P

My characters have always based it on who warrants the invite and who is doing the inviting

So if Thad is inviting and he invites a UCPB male with rep 7, and that his cut off, if his wife is lower that's sort of on the dude to manage - people might still snub them at the event - Thad will talk to the guy but the other women might cut his wife.

If its one of my women inviting the wifes rep will be the one to take into consideration because chances are Nel knows the woman better and based the invitation on who she knows.
