Braces, or suspenders, were almost universally worn due to the high cut of men's trousers. Belts did not become common until the 1920s. — MJ
Had it really come to this? Passing Charles Macmillan back and forth like an upright booby prize?

Dear Sir,

Your notable reputation as a potioneer precedes you. I have been led to believe you are able to supply an effective solution which disposes of a particular and inconvenient situation for a woman, should one arise. I am looking for something expedient and entirely discreet for a friend of mine.

It is a matter of some urgency, so I shall expect the most prompt response possible – and if you are able to assist in this matter, of course you may name your price.

The owl that accompanies this letter is aware of the return address.

Yours, —

Noble Greengrass

I am able to assist. Pricing and the potion used can vary — can your friend share how long she has been dealing with the problem?

Dear Mr. G—,

I can assure you price is no object as long as the issue is dealt with. It has been three months or thereabouts, she suspects. Have you a potion in mind that will still work for her? Will there be any adverse effects of taking it?

Yours, —

I can handle this issue at three months. Side effects: nausea, significant bleeding. If the bleeding persists for longer than 36 hours, buy a blood replenishing potion & do not submit to an examination from a healer lest she risk her condition being known. (You know where to find me for the blood replenishing potion.)

The cost is 8G; send 4 with your reply, I will send the potion, you will send the next 4. The potion's seal is spelled with a collateral — you need to send the full payment for it to open.

Dear Mr. G—,

I understand. Please find the first payment enclosed. The potion will definitely work as intended?
