Did You Know?
Braces, or suspenders, were almost universally worn due to the high cut of men's trousers. Belts did not become common until the 1920s. — MJ
Had it really come to this? Passing Charles Macmillan back and forth like an upright booby prize?

Lift me up, introduction to charms
#17

The students were doing wonderfully for the most part, and now there were feathers dancing about the room like they might even remember the birds that donated them. She nodded at Poppy MacFusty and smiled. It wasnt the height that was important today, it was that the students were managing to cast the charm. Except one of them who had apparently decided that he might try different words to instruct his feather from the table. It certainly sounded like a call to a higher power, and from what she knew so far this little boy put a lot of credit in his faith.

"Bravo, Miss Sherington, wonderful wand technique,." she said to the beaming first year. She would not hold her comment against her, academia had to be a back and forth between student and teacher.

She stepped closer to Silas Merlion and leaned down a little, she dropped her voice as she did not want to loudly decry his faith "My Merlion, I am not here to debate the merits of your faith, but merely asking a higher power to lift the feather will not work." she thought for a moment.

"If it helps, most incantations are derived from either latin or aramaic, and their are those in our own churches that believe that the incantations themselves are prayers and the key to power from the magical jesus." she didnt believe it herself, it was utter nonsense in her mind. But that didnt matter. He had the magic, he had the wand, if he believed he could cast, he would. "Wingardum Leviosa." she reminded him one more time before stepping away.
