Gus couldn’t help but grin at Mason. If only he knew how unpopular a boggart would be, he may have gone a different route. Oh well, too little, too late. That would be a self-reflection for summertime, and Gus wasn’t sure he’d make it there just yet. Of course the seventh year girls would give them both troubles… and he nodded when the other spoke about them.
“Patronus I can go, although I’m sure they’ll complain about how useless that is.” He nearly rolled his eyes - it had taken him years to understand how useful every spell could be under the right circumstances, but then again curse breaking had put him in some weird positions he never thought he’d find himself in. An obstacle course wasn’t a bad idea either. Something clicked and his face lit up with a smile. “A career path wouldn’t be bad. As soon as I got my final NEWT scores I was able to line up an apprentice Curse Breaker gig. Left the day I turned eighteen for Egypt.” He shrugged. There of course had been a few other circumstances that led to him leaving so suddenly but he certainly wasn’t about to offer them to Mason.
“If I could teach them to duel, really duel, I would, but I don’t think Headmaster Black would like those tactics.” Some of the hexes he certainly didn't want his students to use on each other, but they were certainly fun to use on some of his colleagues. Gus flashed Mason a smile. “How did you decide to come here? To teach?”
