Jamie certainly hadn't expected that sort of a reaction from her. He wasn't even sure what it was that he'd said to bring about such a thing. But, she pulled away from him almost as quickly as she'd flung herself at him so he'd hardly had a chance to even react to it. As it was, he stood there a bit dumbfounded but simply waved off her apologies.

"Please do," he said simply, "I'd rather not have to explain to Mac why his assistant is dead or maimed." He nodded as if to emphasize it all before he turned away and headed out of the kitchen. He was ready for bed and could hardly believe that he'd just made such a ridiculous decision.
